    Hi Guys,
Came across this forum and need some advice. I just purchased a 2015 Access Cab - I like the Entune unit, but the speakers both front and rear are inadequate, kind of tinny. What speakers should I upgrade with? Should I just do fronts or rears too? I am not a hip-hop, rap listener, rather a Beatles-Jimi guy, but want good sound! Thanks,
    Oski

Even with new speakers, you'll never get good sound without at least installing a line output converter and an aftermarket amp. I just went through this exercise with my 15' dbl cab. I wound up replacing the head unit instead of using line output converter. Factory systems are 'detuned' to protect speakers and such.

I had same issue, mine: 2015 dbl cab..installed jl audio c2-690x and c2-650x in my truck and kept the non jbl stock head unit, couldn't be happier, left the smaller upper door high speakers stock. Plenty of bass great sound..

I have the same truck and am looking at the Focal 690 Speakers for the front doors as I've heard nothing but good things about them.

I have double cab. I changed head unit and speakers. Currently running Hybrid Audio Technologies....love them. Stock setup= garbage.

Pretty sure the rear speakers dont even output actual sound, it's like a filler or something incredibly stupid, because the deck doesnt deliver power to the rears.

Just so the double cab folks know, the newer 2nd gen AC doesn't have rear speakers per se. They're tweeter sized and located in the headliner just behind the front seats and don't output much sound.

This makes the AC a bit of a challenge to get full cab-filling sound unless you install speakers someplace like the rear access door panels which requires cutting (something I'm not fond of on a brand new truck). Of course the front speakers are the most important so concentrating on them will give the most benefit. From what I can tell so far, installing an amp and new front speakers utilizing the existing HU is probably the best bang for the buck. You can always add from there (sub, rear speakers, new HU, sound deadening, etc)

Speaker installation may require adaptor kits from @Mr Marv or Crutchfield as well as wiring kits for HU>amp>speakers. I'm still investigating the best approach (and likely drag my feet for awhile). There's several members who have recommended speakers as well as other components so if the OP does a search there should be a plethora of info. Here's a google search for speakers on this site.

Thanks everyone who has given advice on my 2015 Access Cab. I'm now feeling like what I need to do is get an amp, a line out converter, 2 6x9's for the front doors and perhaps a box with a speaker to fit in between the tiny back seats (there are no existing rear speakers except these feeble, tiny things in the ceiling, so no speaker holes to work with in the back). I've tried to contact Mr.Marv and Taco Tunes via e-mail but have not heard back. Crutchfield gave me some solid advice, but couldn't help with the rear unit. Any other ideas? Thanks.

Check out the link in my sig for what I did. I never got a response from Taco Tunes either. If money were no object, I'd go with a bitTEN digital processor instead of the miniDSP I used.

The only upside to the ********* setup is the wiring harness....and that's pretty cool. Any other LOC will do basically the same thing. You can get some 9 conductor wire aka 9 wire and tap into front and rears with one conductor left for remote turn on and it's all in one jacket. Makes life easier for running stock wires with LOC.
