05 DC LB PreRunner purchased 2 months ago -
Came with Westin Nerf Bars/Ventshades/Tonneau/Tailgate Lock/K&N Filter
Got it certified from a Toyo dealer with just under 30,000 miles on it - was looking at a black 06 Off Road 4x4 DC but I they would not come off for it like they did this 05, the price was too nice. I really am glad I went with a LB, love the silver, and now dig my non functional sport scoupe  This is my 4th taco and first 2nd generation model. I was surprised how much lighter the pre-runner really feels than the 4WDs I have had before.
This truck also has no seatbelt chime, nor does the horn sound when locked with the remote- so I assume these mods were done or are all 2nd Gens that way..?

First I had to do something with the factory grille, get a short stubby antenna, remove the hood protector and debadge the tailgate

    Thank you Grillcraft

If you haven't done this yet and do not have a sawzall to cut out the plastic insert, invest in this $8 beast from Lowes-makes nice precise cuts and made for very little sanding

moving the horns and painting the inside with a high heat flat/low gloss black spray makes a big difference, too IMO

I also took the factory skid off as I have an Aries bull bar and Hella 500s en route :D

Now to get my audio straight ...

I wanted to utilize a rear view camera system with this LB so I went with the Pioneer AVH P4000 DVD HU for the video, iPod ,and Sirius capabilities. Its also pretty easy to navigate and has excellent sound customization for the $
    Inventory:
    Scoshe Double Din kit
    PAC SWI PS
    Pioneer CDi 1200 iPod adapter
    Pioneer CDS10 Sirius interface
    Pioneer NDBC20 Mobile Camera
    Infinity 6022i 6.5s
    Infinity 9622i 6.9s
    ProFit VSM bracket
    [IMG]
    HU
    [IMG]
    Camera Multi Function Wired Remote
    [IMG]
    Toggle for Rearview Video Feed
    [IMG]
Toggle for DVD Source access(I grounded the E-Brake wire from the HU and ran a switch)
    Sirius Antenna Placement
    [IMG]
Camera placement (I don't have a clue how Pb mounted his camera lens INSIDE the license tag lamp housing, he is my hero)

A Headlight bulb went out so I went ahead and got some PIAA Extreme White H4s for it- maybe more than I needed to spend but what an upgrade that was.
I also had the dealer do the 30000 mile maintenance and they replaced my plugs with 6 of the the copper standards and with good reason:

    Thats about it for now....
Other than that, I hope to get my bull bar and Hellas on soon
Any suggestions on painting the Aries skid black and doing the headlamp paint mod?
When I got the skid plate it looked like UPS drug it to me, so I got some of that Krylon Hammered texture spray paint, but have not pulled the trigger....

Thanks for the props and to those who have posted such great DIY and technical info on this great website - I ALMOST feel bad for ripping off your awesome ideas...
