I just was reconnecting my sway bar and noticed my steering boot has a small tear in it. The outer clamp just pulls off but the inner one looks to be put on with some kind of banding tool. My haynes manual says to cut it off then to replace it with a new one but doesn't say what kinda clamp or how to put on....

k thanks! I guess my next question is how do most people feel about just replacing the clamps with zip-ties like a lot of the boot kits come with? Well I guess the boot is just a soft piece of rubber so a zip-tie would be plenty tough for that?......

uh...i dunno. personally i wouldn't use a zip tie, the regular cv boot clamps clamp down with quite a bit of pressure. i imagine that the zip tie would eventually work its wayoff....

as for that tool i have seen people use those tile cutter type tool to crimp the clamps...
