@destin_meeks can you explain to me where to my new head unit to the speed sensor wire? I can’t seem to figure out where it is and I know it’s crucial to do it correctly.. also do I have to buy a new back up camera for this unit I bought? They said that this control pro 2 pac audio swi cp2 would enable me to keep oem features. I ended up getting the alpine ine 970HD Head unit. I also bought the pac TR1 to bypass emergence brake feature and the online directions on pac website are terrible although I got the tr1 installed by watching youtube video.
I also bought some Metra multi conductor speaker wire before I knew I was gonna have to buy this head unit. It’s 18 gauge. Will it be good enough for this real JL amp ive got? Xd700/5v2

ideally, you're using a smart harness (maestro rr preferably) and this harness has your VSS wire
this will also keep your screen at the gauge cluster working normally for audio display, as well as get backup cam integration

if you just have the basic metra harness, I'm pretty sure its a purple wire in the 28 pin harness.

the SWI cp2 is only a steering wheel control interface. does not retain ANYTHING else.

So I also need to purchase the maestro smart adapter for this install?

These harnesses they sold me didn’t come plug n play. No obi2 adapters. Just wires I’m gonna need to tap

I’m going to make the drive to Best Buy this afternoon once my sons basketball games are over then do this install. Could you please give me a list of things to get to install this head unit as close to plug n play as it gets? I will seriously PayPal or Venmo you $75 to walk me through this install bc I don’t wanna mess this up

I’m prepared. I just want this done right and be done with this at this point. Install shop around here had 2 week wait and I’d rather not ride around two weeks with wires hanging out of my dash that long. This has been a lesson learned for me. lol it’s consumed me the last week or so and I’m just sick of it

I doubt I can return this cp2 unfortunately bc I’ve already soldered a lot of the wires into the head unit wiring

I’m embarrassed to tell the money I’ve spent on this install. Lol I’ve bought enough the Steve meades distortion detector to set everything once installed and noico a pioneer mono amp and infinity 10” sub I’m not even using anymore. Money pit so far and I’m just frustrated bc of everything that’s gone wrong

Unfortunately it’s a relatively complex industry and trying to figure it out without existing knowledge or resources can be very difficult. That’s exactly how I feel about mechanical things. No way I’m getting involved with my engine lol.

Thanks for all your time and help throughout. I’m still nervous as a cat that it is something else besides my head unit that was popping that fuse but I have literally checked everything and even put everything besides door speakers back to factory and still popped the fuse with Entune installed. Only when I completely removed it it quit popping the fuse

My alpine head unit came with its own gps navigation harness and two USB ports. Shouldn’t I be able to use these?
