You didn't leave the 8 speaker wires from the headunit connected to the factory wiring, and connect the amp into the same wires together did you? You want the headunits speaker wires isolated, capped off each one by itself, when your doing an outboard amp, like your JL.

No it’s non jbl unit stock but have had to replace the entune since trying to add the JL audio. Now I’m afraid the same has happened to this alpine I replaced it with

I’m going to run speaker wire from JL straight to each speaker instead of behind head unit

No I had the JL connected to head unit harness last. Then I pulled all wires from JL and my dq 61 and connected the alpine only

I connected the JL to the Toyota factory harness behind the alpine head unit via posi taps. Not the alpine speaker harness that it came with

curious why you just didn't connect the wires coming from the jl to the harness that comes with the mastero, instead of tapping into the factory side of harness, and what is connected on those speaker wires on the other side of mastero harness?

Girlfriend giving me hell about always messing with truck here lately and I have been. Idk man dumb move I guess. Believe me I’m not proud of it

Chin up champ. You’ll get it. Hey man I was about to attempt something like this but am glad I pulled out my aftermarket pioneer that I bought 6 years ago just to look and boy I had a struggle even trying to get it back in place with all the wires behind. Still sticking out my dash now. Will def be taking it to the pros for install. And adding a few extra upgraded toys at the same time. Win win. Consider it

Does anybody know which wire the foot brake is that the maestro TO2 harness needs to be soldered into?

foot brake wire on rr harness is yellow/black but I'm pretty sure the w970hd doesn't have a foot brake wire only a parking brake wire, look at wiring diagram in owners book for your alpine, most of the current alpine radios only have parking brake now. so in that case you just cap off the yellow/black as it is not needed for your set up.

so no you don't need to hook up the foot brake wire then just make sure it has a cap or some tape covering the end to keep it from touching anything else

I had the alpine power speaker harness soldered into the maestro harness then the Maestro harness plugged into factory speaker harness. I had JL Amp tapped into factory harness and I had alpine Rca harness running into JL amp rca inputs

So is there not a way to get the gauge functions of maestro with my ine 970hd? I really ain’t a fan of this thing. I figured it was badass as much as it costed me after plug n play harnesses ordered and bought used she not used I’ve got 1300 in it. Smdh

so you have the alpine's internal amp connected alone with the JL amp to the same wires.... yeah that is a big no no, like I said earlier you don't want the alpines speaker wires connected if you are running an outboard amp. cut those speaker wires from the alpine off the maestro harness and tape each one off. no gauges for that alpine unit it doesn't support the data from the maestro unit

and cut it at your solder joint were you connected the two harness together, that way each harness is still usable

You think it’s fried? I just followed the instructions that came with maestro for non jbl. I did the same thing with my oem unit and the Audio shop said it was fried. That’s when I bought this one
