Thanks for that, id honestly be happy with that since, you're right, it'll just hold whatever you set it at I'll just have to remember that if I bump/lower the cruise displayed mph that the main speedo is the real speed.

What about mpg display? Does that get recalibrated?

SSO hybrid bumper, Warn winch, RCI skid trilogy, RRW sliders, everything in the cheap/free mods thread, and of course the frame recall work.
Do these things adjust transmission shift points to match real speed, or will it still be wonky? Trying to decide if I need this *and* 4.88s to get the transmission to use 5th & 6th gear on the highway.

MPG and shift points are corrected. The only thing I've noticed that's not corrected is the cruise control set speed display number.

I installed the rough country calibrator a few months ago, shifting and MPG's slightly improved. Are you tuned? I got the Nexus +P Premium tune a few weeks ago and the truck holds 6th gear great on the highway, even up slight inclines. I'm on 33's with stock gearing and my MPG's are also barely less than they were with stock tires.

This affects shift points too? I thought it just adjusted input voltage to the instrument cluster.

It did on my Taco. I assume once the speed issue was corrected, the shift point issue fixed itself. The Hypertech calibrator recalculates the data coming off the vehicles computer - I'm pretty sure it's more than just a voltage adjustment.

Huh. I did not know that. I figured if it was doing anything more meaningful then the cruise control speed would also get the update since it's likely feeding to the ECU or some other computer.

I talked to Hypertech a few years ago, back when I installed mine - they told me the cruise control data was coming from a different location, one that their calibrator was not talking to. True or not, I have no idea.

I'll have to double check, but I'm pretty sure my cruise control speed is accurate

It's definitely not accurate for mine. Off by about 2mph. But I have the Rough Country model though I'm pretty sure I've read that it's the same thing, different brand.

It is the same - the Rough Country unit is a re-branded Hypertech.

I am not sure why, but I have had an almost completely different (backwards??) experience with the Hypertech inline calibrator than most on here.

I have 285/75R16s on my 2018 TRD OR DCSB (stock tires were 265/70R16, so theoretically a 1" difference between stock and current tires). I have stock gearing.

I set the unit up using the metric tire sizes and it gave me a correction factor of 1.034. My tires are pretty new so there is not much wear. (I don't have my old tires so I can't say what the actual tire size was. Bottom line is they are about 1" different so that is the best I can do).

Before I installed the Hypertech unit (i.e. stock/factory settings) the following was true at 65MPH:
    1. CC and speedometer matched perfectly (i.e. when I have my CC set to 65 on the center cluster the speedometer was steady at 65MPH)
    2. Actual GPS speed measured with my phone was about 2.5 mph faster at 65mph (i.e. when my CC/speedometer showed 65 my actual GPS speed is steady at 67.5)

After installing the Hyptertech (with latest firmwear) this is now true at 65MPH:
    1. CC and actual GPS speed (measured with same app and same phone) match perfectly (i.e. when my CC is set to 65MPH my actual GPS speed is steady at 65MPH)
    2. Speedometer shows 67MPH (speedometer shows 2 MPH faster than CC/GPS at most all speeds (55MPH to 75MPH))
    Conclusions:
    1. My speedometer is now 2MPH faster than actual speed when it was 2MPH slower than actual speed
    2. My CC was 2MPH slower than actual speed and now it is the same as actual speed
Not sure why this is happening. Anyone have any ideas?

I am going to call Hypertech tomorrow to see what they say.

Just have it shipped to a UPS store just across border then swing by and pick it up.

I bought my Hypertech about 3 weeks ago and I live in SoCal and had no problems/restrictions buying it or receiving it.

    Itz JDM tyte, yo!
I am wondering when will Hypertech have their calibrator available for the '22s. It's been a while since the '22s has been out.

The main thing is that I want the odometer to stay accurate whenever I add bigger tires.

So I zeroed out the unit and reset it to the same correction factor as before (1.034).

Now it seems to be dialed in correctly. CC, Speedo and GPS are all pretty close +- .5 mph. Must have been a glitch in the download/setting or something the first time. I will run it some more for verification.

Also, I am thinking about Velcroing the unit to the top of the dash cluster so I only have to pop off the plastic vent covers if I ever have to access it again.

I velcro'd mine to the outer wall of the air duct to the left of the head unit and routed the USB cord down by the middle kick panels so I can snake it out easily.

The current calibrator works for a 22 even though the 22 is not listed.
