speedo corrector

    I want to lift my 07 tacoma trd off road. I want 285 75 16 do I need a programmer for speedo ?

    I think the our tire size calculator will tell you the mph change.
    Just search tacomaworld.com tire size calculator.

    Use the tire calculator and see if the change is tolerable to you. Remember, it's assuming your speedo/odo are perfect today. Have you GPS tested them?

    For example, my 215's on my 5 lug read 2 over at 60. Now with 235s it reads 2 under at 60, and spot on up to about 45. So I'm happy.

    If you do want to recalibrate, I think Hypertech makes the only product that will work.

    Or you can get an Ultragauge. Calibrate it and it will read your speed exactly. I've checked mine against GPS and it's always spot on. Plus, if you get a check engine light it will read the code and reset it if you wish.
    My UG is mounted next to my rear view mirror. I can check speed and traffic at the same time.

    My truck is different. I have 285/75/16 and my speedo is 1mph off at 60. Says 59.
