Old Man Emu 2.5" lift, brush guard (about to be changed), grey-wire mod, custom bed mounts for 4 jerrycans, custom survival box, maglite mount, KC Dayliters.
That listing on Jegs claims to be for 2nd Gen Tacomas. Does it work for the 1st Gens too?

actually for first gens I think there is a replacement plastic gear for the speedo that you can put in.... have to search around a bit or call a company like 4wheel parts wholesalers and ask their free tech line

That sounds more like it. I know that the 2nd Gens are a huge technological leap from the 1st Gens (with all their tire pressure monitors and airbag deploy monitors and all that jazz). Plus all the other vehicles listed there were 2005 or newer.

Did you ever find a solution to your problem? I live in Houston also and need to get my speedo recalibrated after going from 27" to 32". I dont really want to spend $250 doing it either

To be honest i havent done anything with it i dont know why. I checked at one place called space center tire and auto in clear lake and they said they could probably do it for around 100 or so (just an estimate). But i just havent done it yet.
