Awesome thanks. Just found a place that has 1" x 1" square tubing in anywhere from 16 to 11 gauge thickness

Any idea why this has failed so soon? Was there some unusual stress on the rubber? I have one here and it looks like a pretty robust part. When you pull it out, some pics of the failure would be nice.

No idea it does seem very unusual. Could just be a fluke. I might just keep s close eye on it and leave it. I just don’t have the time to re so all that work.

I did accidentally install the rear half of my driveshaft backwards, but that should have no effect on this

What do you mean, backwards? If it's out of balance because of it, that would waste it pretty quick?

instead of the slip yoke being at the front it is now at the rear. No issues and no vibrations or anything. should make no difference, driveshaft is dented anyways from the rocks.

Sounds like you need to get your driveshaft re-balanced. If it's not in balance, it will tear that thing up no matter what it is.

Still isn’t think this should have happened even if it was out of balance. The truck is as smooth as butter so doubt it is out of balance. Guys I wheel with have dents in their shaft and vibrations yet no issues with the carrier. When I adress this though I will have the driveshaft balanced and flipped for piece of mind though.

I’m starting to think that the ripped marks that I’m seeing in the rubber is actually relief marks that it came with?

Anyone have pictures of this side of the XC carrier bearing to confirm?

Looks like the rubber may not actually be torn. Another member posted this photo and it looks like their is relief cut in the rubber the same area mine looks “torn”

If you are talking about the slots in the rubber, yes those are molded in.

So maybe mine isn’t torn then. It looks like those are exactly where the slots are that come molded into the rubber

Yea, I have a new one here on my desk to look at. Unless you are seeing something I can't, I think you are fine.

Awesome. From the pic I posted it looked torn, forgot there was factory molded reliefs in the rubber on this side. I know the back side has more relief cuts.
