What is the diff between the Early and the Late model spacers?

Does that mean 1st and 2 gen trucks?
I know what is lug centric and the other is hub centric
but I don't know how that affects anything or what it really means?

I have a 06 DC long bed PreRunner And I want some 1.25" spacers...
But I dunno which ones to get!!!
    Any help?

For 2nd Gen. Trucks your looking at the late model spidertrax spacer because its not hubcentric!
