Hi. I just got back from my mechanic looking at a horn problem. He traced it back to spiral cable issue. I know there was a recall for spiral cable on other Toyota's . Dealership is not allowing this recall for my Taco... any others out there with this issue?

My horn stopped working too and reading here it might be a spiral cable problem too. What year is your Taco? Did you get it warranty repaired?

I know of a recall for the 2005-2009 years due to friction killing the cable subsequently messing with the airbag, but not aware of later years being affected.

Gotcha. I have a '12 and my horn started to go intermittent last week and now doesn't work. Trying to track whether it could be fuses, relays, or something else.

Spiral cable controls horn, drivers air bag and cruise control. Work in service at a Toyota 95% of the time any horn issue is always the cable. Sometimes you can turn the wheel all the way and make the horn work.

I think the recall doesn't pertain to models with steering wheel controls. I could be wrong though
