Had a guy run over a spray paint can in front of me today. I’m not worried about the actual car paint since it was freshly waxed and is coming off pretty easily and minimal splatter.

the pro grill is my issue. I used nail polish remover and it is leaving a bit of a residue. I used a little aerospace 303 on it tonight in hope that it fixes that. Any other ideas? Pretty ticked....the guy aimed for it

    ideas would be great

Try baking soda and water mixture. It’s a pretty gentle but effective cleaner.

Nail polish remover is probably altering the surface of the plastic, rather than leaving residue? I’d try a clay bar with lots of lube.

If it’s altering the surface I am probably looking at a new grill. Nothing. Else is pulling it

Nail polish remover is basically just acetone with some other things added in, and acetone is a very aggressive solvent, so I wouldn't recommend using that on plastic. I would start with using a clay bar. I have some paint transfer on my 08 many years ago and a clay bar did a great job at removing it without damaging the paint. You just have to be patient. It's not a fast process.

    Try alcohol.

Preferably a body shop level, if not isopropyl may work just slowly.

The alcohol won't mar the surface. It will soften the paint enough that some LIGHT agitation will emulsify and remove the paint.

People gasp when they hear it...but a little bit of good ole' fashion gasoline on a rag does wonders.

Just remember a little goes a long way.

So....I used actual acetone and just did quick wipes and used very little. It got it all off. I clean the grill with water and then put aerospace 303 on it. I have the money to get a new grill if need be, so we shall see in a day or so when the aerospace evens out.

On the paint, it all came off pretty easily. I’m sure I will find little specks here and there for awhile.

I’ll try and take a pic of the spot where the guy ran over it. Damn big explosion

Glad to hear you got it off. Remember though that 303 Aerospace Protectant really isn't designed for hard / painted surfaces and will wash off completely in the next rain storm or car wash. If you want to protect the grill, a wax, sealant or coating will be a much better bet.
