Need to really test it before I give a report. Have to drive a decent ways to even find something for testing, still snow and closed roads around here. Feels good thus far though.

Also need a quieter muffler. Too damn loud, but too lazy to cut it off.

What muffler you have now? I see it's a mag but how long. 12"-14"? Mine is a 14" mag that is pretty quite. Only gets loud if you smash it down.

I'm rather disinclined at the moment to cut it off after all the work of getting it on, but if I do we'll weld it up on your rig.

Is the 18", 5x8" oval which is the biggest. I was assured the 18" piped to the back wouldn't be too loud. I can hear it constantly and it's pretty droney at times. Gonna get annoying quick.

I just put a 50 series flowmaster on mine and love it! I can actually hear myself think now. It made the truck much more enjoyable to be in lol Never really thought sound could make a truck feel completely different.

Yeah me too. Jace aka lots of toys has the 12" mag and his is way louder then mine. I figure the larger you go the quieter it gets.

Brett: If your interested in my muffler I can post up a sound clip and link to Amazon where I got the muffler. The sound clip will at least give you an idea.

I was just gonna ask how it sounded with that long straight run of exhaust pipe.

Looks good! Might have missed it, but did you do the exhaust work?

I found exhaust tubing is easy to weld if you are using an .030" or smaller wire that is not flux core. .035" is ok but too much material.

Yes, I did the exhaust work. Bought a piece of tubing with a bunch of bends in it and cut what I needed. Only burnt one hole it it before I figured out how to weld it. ;)

I really don't think there's a leak, just think I have a different opinion of what constitutes a loud exhaust than most. Drove it to work this morning with the music cranked up, didn't really hear it.

Done all my welding with .030 ER70S-6. Travel speed needed to be much faster than I'm used to, otherwise it was easy.

Welded all the joints for the tailpipe with it clamped in my vice, so no challenges there.

Wasn't a kit. I bought this, this, and a couple of these. Made the hangers out of some solid stock.

Enough to make it a lot of fun!
He bought the kit from jegs I think and he just bought round stock from ace to build his hangers. He just welded a nub on the end of the round stock to keep the bushing from falling off.
