Rides awesome offroad, don't have to worry about vibes then. Shocks have nothing to do with that.

On road the ride is pretty good, just very noisy and various other annoyances.

I know you're just giving me a hard time, but my truck performs excellent at what I've built it for, as you've seen. Just wanting to go a slightly different direction right now and my truck isn't a good starting point.

Yep, you are correct. Slinging the poo I am.
And I get it, I'm planning another build too, going a different direction as well.

I'm looking forward to seeing what both of y'all are going to be doing.

You gonna start a build thread for the Tundy, Brett?

Curious what you find uncomfortable with the truck?

I find only the seats to be the downfall for long distance stuff. The position and comfort of them.

I've gone on some pretty long trips in both my rigs..not sure how a 2nd gen is better comfort wise and the seats in those do the same thing my 1st gen ones do in terms of fatigue. My Dad's position is the same too

X2 on the shit seats! I was thinking bout gettin a pair of the mastercraft baja reclineable seats but a bronco came into my work an had them, def not impressed imo pretty much same as stock, but def would hold you in seat better with more bucket style. Was tossing round idea of redoing the foam on mine but don't want to pay an arm n a leg

I really like my WRX seats. Made a huge difference with fatigue as well as being worlds better in terms of support.

I'd love to have just a bit more legroom, but it's not something that's ever been a showstopper.

Just adding wet okole seat covers made a huge difference with mine. Will buy again.

I'm torn on what to do there. Either find some seats I like or try the wet okole.

I'm curious to see how the aluminum holds up over time. From what I've heard about regular aluminum toppers the fasteners start to loosen and wallow out the holes.

I agree. The lumbar support is awesome!

for the 4wheelpopups and the Habitat, everything is welded. That's why they are so expensive, they are built with no frills but made to last.

I actually don't mind the seats, probably due to my size. Although getting into Ryan's truck the first thing I noticed was the lumber support.

Some sound deadening would be nice, but not sure I want to spend the money or add the weight to my truck for that.

X2 on the WRX seats. Put 3000 miles on it in a week, wasn't sore at all by the end of it.
And they are cheap to get easy to install

Long time lurker, nit sure if I've ever posted here though.

Comfort is, of course, relative and based in opinion. The two trucks are certainly very different. Being in the one that fits your needs is very fulfilling.

I enjoyed my '13 for three years/90k. It was a fantastic truck. It was more comfortable in every way than my 1st gen. Seating, space, interior layout, on and on.

However, it did not fit both by needs and my wants. I needed to be able to commute 100mi/day and wanted to be able to bash trails with it. I realized my needs/wants we're heading in opposite directions and the rest is history. 1st gen toy + commuter car.

OP, sounds like you know what you want/need. From what I've read, the 2nd gen sounds like an awesome option for you. Good luck.
