    Good question...
I know I took a picture of old brett's rearching procedure. I wonder if it's still on here somewhere.

it wouldn't matter if I arched that leaf or not, they don't get arched that close the centering pin. I only re-arch the ends and stay about 12" or so away from the centering pin hole.

    Good point.
Hard to tell for sure from the pic but it looks like it broke right where the flip plate contacts the leaf?

yep, that's where they commonly break. That's where I broke mine.
I still say clamp that bitch together and drive the fucker home. It'll hold just fine, that anemic v-6 doesn't produce near enough power to ever cause a problem.
And when mine broke, the axle did walk out at an angle and I had to use a cum-along to align it again before I clamped it together.

I'm all set to borrow @Reh5108 's roommates trailer and pick it up tonight with @Night Eagle

I agree it would most likely be fine to drive, but thinking it's still wise to err on the side of safety here being what would happen if something were to let go.

    Well. Trailer didn't work out.

Made a few calls and managed to get my AAA membership upgraded to cover a one time 200 mile tow for $33.00. Just have to wait 24 hours.

Double checked and it's 191 miles from where its parked to my home.

I was debating buying some parts store leafs if anyone had them in stock and swapping them in the parking lot. Would be riding the bumps but it would have got me home. Was just kinda over it after a week of wheeling and camping and wanted to get home.

Glad you will hopefully have it home soon man. Just think at least you didn't tear a sidewall just trying to get to the dunes...

Just got off work for the day, don't want to drive 6 hours, so we'll see how fast I can get there tomorrow in the Subi.

    No Shit.

@Reh5108 was looking for leaf springs on CL after I discovered it, and instead found a 1st gen Tundra with LT and a crawlbox. Should have tried to trade. I would have included the beer that's still in the cooler... Might be a little warm by now.

    Also, while you're here:

Note how we went down the actual trail, and not the illegal side by side bypass. :luvya: Then I turned around and went up.

Rocks were stacked like that. We didn't move any.

@Tacofire98 made it down on 255s and no belly skid.

Not sure on the Tundra, didn't see the ad.

been for sale for like 3 days..haha

But he has put it up for sale 3 times in the last year. He wasn't a diesel and when he finds one he wants he puts it up for sale in hopes it'll sell so he can get his other truck. Then im assuming the truck he wants gets sold so he takes it off the market.

He had the price down to 13.5k last time.

I'd love to get it. Just not in the cards i think right now..

    right.

But it hasn't, not really. I bet its a nice truck. But it does have a lot of custom stuff on it, so would definitely be a drive be for you buy type situation.
