Oh I get it. Its just as simple of bolting the four bolts to the tool and pressing the axle shaft down. cool.

@jubei Can you post a picture of both sides of the wheel bearings that came in your LROR kit.

I ordered the same OEM wheel bearings I used last time, and they're not going to work with the Yukon shafts. :censored:

I can't catch a break right now. I've had it with this truck.

Guessing I need bearings from a 95-00 Tacoma to work with the shafts, but can't figure it out for sure. Also not sure if that will work with the backing plate, etc.

Busted out the good camera to show where I'm at.

Yukon axle has a hard shoulder on it, stock axle is concave. Bearing matches that radius. Result is that I can't press the bearing on far enough to get the circlip in. Looks like an earlier wheel bearing would fix my issues, probably also could use the matching outer seal as my stock one isn't doing anything on the Yukon axle. Trying to find a picture of a stock 95-00 axle shaft to confirm.

Shit, man, I was literally about to post up the same issue! Can’t get the bearing to push far enough to expose the circlip groove...

    :annoyed:

I’m betting the ones in my picture are the same as the ones you ordered.

Maybe we’ll get lucky and the 95-00 bearing OD is the same as ours...

Can't get a straight answer. Did confirm the '00 and '01 backing plates are the same part number.

I suspect it'll work with the earlier bearings, but still trying to figure it out for sure.

This had me a bit worried at first, apparently for good reason. Low Range website description is for 95-04, but the label says 95-00.

    Hey Brett, another thing:

I noticed in @Timmah! ’s how to vid that the 3rd Gen Runner bearings were 180 symmetric; they did NOT have the inner race extended away from the bearing like my stock ones and the replacements.

Yukon's website says 95-00 in the title, then 95-04 in the description.

    https://www.yukongear.com/productdetails.aspx?ProdID=10002

@thefatkid do you have any knowledge about the differences between axle shafts/bearings/seals on the '01 and later versus earlier tacomas?

Correct, from what I can tell the earlier bearings don't have that lip.

PN are different so must be the lip.

Weird considering the back plate is the same.

Sure looks to me like the hub will sit further outboard from the backing plate with these new axles. :notsure:

seems like an odd design too to not have a flat mating surface for the bearing.

Yes, you need the older bearing design without the extended race based on the pictures you posted.

It’s very odd, Monte. Not sure what that feature does really.

I just mic’d the stock bearing with the lip, and other than that, it is a standard 90mm OD x 40mm ID x 23mm wide bearing. In fact, I found a on T4R.org that cross references an OEM bearing (90363-40020-77) with a KOYO version (6308 2RSC3) that is likely the same exact bearing. That one could potentially work with the Yukon axles, I think.
