Just got the other axle done and everything put back together. Quick drive across town was as smooth as it's been in a long time.


Wish I had time to get a few more test miles on it, but headed to UT again Friday after work, so hopefully everything holds up.

 

Where you going Friday. I leave for Goblin Valley Saturday then we are gping through the maze all week

 

Recon mission. If he tells ya, he would have to you know....

You have pic of your recent rear shock relocate?

 

Planning on Lavender if we can get a permit.

when we did our needles trip, it had quicksand conditions i hope your luck is better that was early march

 

Found it and doing research all morning. Did you make the plate yourself you buy a kit? I've been thinking of using TGs kit: http://www.trail-gear.com/product/4998/tacoma-rear-frame-box-kit I would not use their upper shock mount as that is too low (like BAMFs). You think that'll work?

 

he used the TG kit. just changed where the tube mounted.

 

I'm currently in the process of this. I used TGs kit. I'm using there shock mount and I don't think I could really get it any higher if I wanted. I'm also have daystars 1" BL so I can fit the 1.75" tube directly over the axle. It's a perfect fit and basically makes an additional support for the bed.

So you're using TGs shock mount tube to mount the shocks. Speedy used this" 1.75" .120 wall HREW steel for my upper mount bar " above his frame. I'm thinking of copying him on that.

 

Are those Ruffstuff shock mounts?

 

Do you have a side angle of the lower mount? I want to see at what angle you settled on.

 

As others mentioned, it's a trail gear kit. I used the tubing that came with it, just mounted it as high as possible. I also didn't bother with the included shock 'mounts' which are just a bolt.

Yes.

Don't think I have one, but I can grab one if I remember. I adjusted them to get the shocks where they needed to be. They do hang below the axle, and I have hit them, but it hasn't presented a problem.
