With engine perches you can add gusset without pulling the motor. I’ve boxed the inside of the perch with1/4” plate. I also added 1/4” plate on the bottom from the front of the perch to the frame. This was all done before my motor swap. I ended up fabbing up whole new perches and running Bomb proof mounts.

Others have gusset the outside of the perch

In the market for some 17" wheels with a little negative offset. Haven't decided if I want to go with SCS again. I really like the new Method trail series, but not sure if I want to deal with spacers again. :notsure:

Ray 10s will be for sale here soon.

I feel like it’s. Hard to find wheels for our trucks that don’t need spacers

    Yes.

Kinda over Ray 10s. I think they look sweet, just want something different. Also don't want the 9" width. 8" or 8.5" would be preferable for the 285 width.

It is. Everything seems to be made for the newer trucks that require less backspacing.

I’ve been looking for a while, not really wanting to spend a ton and I still haven’t found anything

Id say stay on the 16s. But ironically, the tire selection is much better in 17s. Or go back to 15s :p lots of options there  have to ditch the brakes though.

Sorry, I haven't followed the whole build but looks like I jumped in at the right time... what size are the Ray 10s? I'm on the Front Range and would always be happy for a drive up to the mountains to pick them up if they're the right size...

285/75r17 seems like the way to go these days. More and more options are becoming available, and it's a true 34 that fits the Toyota's well.

16x8 with 4" backspacing in matte gray. It's a set of 5, and will include what's left of my 295 Hankook's if wanted. No lack of rock rash on the rings, however.

Won't be available for another month or so.

SCS makes one in a 17x8.5 with 4.30 bs that would fit. I've been looking at those for the Tundra.

The Tacoma has 17x9, can't even remember the brand, something from Discount tire.
wasn't thrilled at first with the 9" width either, but they work and the tire looks good on them. I've had them down to 12psi and never lost a bead.
They are 4.5 bs, the extra width is to the outside and pulls the inner edge of the tire away from the uca. Not running any spacers either. Tire rubs the frame slightly at full wheel turn, hasn't been an issue.

I've kept SCS on the radar, just was looking into other options as well.

There's a set of Stealth 6th blems right now that I've thought about, unfortunately in black which I'm not a huge fan of. Also only 4 of them.

Current setup rubs the frame at full lock too, which hasn't presented a problem. Not a bad trade off for more firewall clearance.

Got an LCE pro clutch here to add to the pile to go in this spring. Still debating what to do with the motor mount perches, core support, and front bumper, but I'm getting the itch to dive into it here shortly.

    Oh, and this happened.

It wasn't that long ago that we replaced your clutch was it?

Clutch is fine, but it's got a few quirks. The LCE setup should be a nice upgrade.

Was also thinking it would be a good time to do it if I'm already messing with the engine and transmission to get those mounts and perches in.
