That was pretty much the main reason for pulling it. I have a set of perches from Next Venture on hand. Going to look closely at it today and decide if I want to use those or plate up the factory perches.

Found some oil leaks I'll address too. Also pretty sure the drivers side motor mount wasn't doing much of anything.

At the very least weld a bung in the oil pan for the future turbo.

    Nice. Forgot about those perches.

I'd not recommend a turbo btw for what you use your truck for and the abuse it sees. Turbos are fragile and I'm sure you'll rattle one apart. If you want boost get a blower. It's much much more reliable and even though it's not as effective as a turbo, the kick in the pants it gives is great still. Knowing your geared similarly to Frankenstein, with a blower you'd be tickled pink with one and the power it gives in conjunction with the low gear. Frank rips with the one I have.

And it's tried and true and very low maintenance compared to a heavy turbo hanging off the side of your truck where you won't be able to run a shock tower cross brace either.

    Just a thought

Turbo! It's not difficult to make a bracket to support the manifold/turbo. On the 4cyl the intake plenum is as much in the way for shock tower cross brace as the turbo is.

Brett doesn't push his pile this hard :D

yeah but most of those are hill climbing machines. I bet they go through turbos a lot plus are being trailered around.

For the remote stuff done, would not be good if the turbo went out in the middle of no where.

I know you're in process of turboing..and I would make the same suggestion.

And trust me...im a HUGE turbo fan. Id rather turbo mine too, but from a reliablitiy stand point it just didn't make sense too. Boost in general though isn't a great idea for most remote trips. But the blower with a small amount of work works very well. Not going to win any drag races or anything, but again, with the low gearing, it rips plenty fast.

    Also post your welds.
I want to see if you're as good as me given that I've owned a welder for 2 days now and I'm pretty much an expert.
