I did that, it still went back together... You know it's a wholesale mess when the windshield has to come out though

I've got entirely too much time into this install, but it's mostly done. Was also able to get the in cab controls working perfectly without too complicated of a wiring setup and no additional relays.

Decided I didn't have enough brackets, so I made another.

    IMG_20190514_202047.jpg

Did this install and wiring to the best of my abilities, wanted to be able to rely on this setup for a long time to come.

    IMG_20190516_204114.jpg

And spooled up with the Custom Splice Diamondback.

    IMG_20190516_220057.jpg

Only thing I need to pick up is a new hook, as the one that came with winch doesn't fit the new winch line.

Now to finish the radio install and build some new skids, then I hope I'm done for the year.

Not yet. Heading to Tim's on the 1st to get some shock work done, was hoping to find one on that Sunday, but didn't see any.

Are you talking about the ones where someone cuts a LBJ apart and adds a uniball? Have you heard any feedback on those? I've seen a few people bring them up, but no one that's actually used them.

You mean sparkling canyon metallic? I still have a couple cans left. :spy:

I bet the filler doesn't last one trip :D

What is this uniball nonsense you speak of?

No not really. But sure. Just meant in general. I haven't seen anyone running them either. Is a curious idea but man if they aren't welded right it's a ticking time bomb.

Other option is solo spindle with uniball conversion :bananadead:

Who's doing it? Is it just cheaper to swap the uniball when it's bad? I can't imagine longevity being any better.

    Some dude.

Not exactly a good choice: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/uniball-lbj.522820/

Longevity would not be better. Be a year or so Id guess due to location(getting dunked ect). Not that much easier. Have to remove the whole unit to press out the old uniball. But would be a $30 uniball..

I think the Solo option would be more useable but has an insane buy in price(2k)
