    Stuff. Also things.
Didn’t that original crack happen after he installed the coil bucket gussets and straps?

Do I need an overland bound badge to buy one of those? :p

Too committed to make the swap now, so we'll see what I can do with this rig.

Thanks for the all the info though. Coil bucket I can fix, axle I'll leave alone for the rest of the season. I'll debate what to do this winter.

Getting back into the 'how much money do you want to put into it with only the 8" 3rd' debate.

I think it's a factor of constant abuse over rough terrain. I think the LT guys would have the same issues, but most of them aren't driving fast on choppy, rocky roads all the time.

Also, I've had coil bucket gussets since the start of 2017.

After the gussets, before the straps. Also, my straps haven't done much recently cause they're all torn and a little too long.

Yeah but you don’t have that extra tube which keeps the coil bucket more rigid from upwards deflection. That’s pushing down on the actual mount of the coil bucket so it can’t bend upwards, and the tc gussets only support a left to right movement from what I’ve seen. Also fix your limit straps. :boink: you can’t afford to have part of your suspension support system to be haggard based on the way you drive :p

I'm going to make a crosstube to tie the two coilbuckets together. I think that's the best solution.

I think the TC gussets also help with the entire coilbucket moving in and out, but yes, don't do much to the top.

And I know I need to fix the straps - I've been kinda busy with other truck projects this year. :bananadead:

Speaking of which, don't by TC limit straps. Ordering Karteks now.

In the last couples day's, I've found more cracks on:

    Bed Mounts
    LCAs
    Steering Rack Mount

Time to burn it to the ground!

I hear ya, but the ratio of paying to playing is getting worse. Don't even think I've put 5k miles on it this year.

Anyways - truck fixed. Possibly check

I think you just need to stop inspect his thing. Problems aren’t problems if you don’t know they exist, right?

    Serious question...

What are you doing to this truck that’s causing all this? Hailing ass down rough “roads”? I don’t feel like my kind of slow technical wheeling is hard on my truck at all, other than the dents and scratches.

I see you grinding a surface for your bead but are you grinding out the crack for penetration?

Yes. Put a little groove in those LCA cracks to lay the weld into.

And is this “overlanding” done at excessive speeds on harsh terrain?

Is that weld inside the coil bucket going to be in the way of mounting the coilover?
