Bummer. Was half hoping you'd get it. But not surprised either.

Good call on the axle I think

I gave it hell, but only got both hubs to move about 1/4".

    Maybe on the next axle.

Good call on the new housing. Much better to have time to really research what you really want than slap something together because you need it ASAP.

Yep, definitely the cheapest and easiest route while I decide on something else.

Slowly been tinkering on front end stuff, but did get to work cleaning up the housing today and cutting off the drain plug.

    That's not entirely accurate.

The hardest part IMO is getting the spindles setup on the press in a way you can (safely) press them apart. This is difficult because it has to be wide enough for the hub to fit through, but then be supported on the little bosses where the dust shield bolts to. I tried a few different ways with what I had available, but always ended up bending/breaking my fixture. I did have a lot of force on it before doing that though, but not sure exactly how much.

The $50 I paid to press them apart was money well spent. Pressing them back together myself was super easy.

Just got the work from home and reduced hours treatment like everyone else, so at least I can get this pile back together. :cookiemonster:

Got the ruffstuff truss in and began fitting it up. Needs notching around the leaf perches, and some other small fitup adjustments. Also need to figure out how I'm going to mount the shocks off the back of the axle and make them fit, and make brake lines work. Otherwise seems like it will go on pretty easy.

    IMG_20200317_182550.jpg

Front suspension is getting put back together slowly. Solo LCAs are in with no issue. Will need to cut off and reweld my upper limit strap mounts though.

I nested some shock mounts that are 1.5" wide and for the round axle tube, still want them?

Got the truck back on the ground today and aligned. Netted around 4.5 degrees of caster and .2 degrees of negative camber with the cams almost in the center. Super happy about that. Obviously could get more caster out of it, but would like to keep the cams centered and bushings happy.

Ground down and then welded the shit out of the perches.

    IMG_20200328_122542.jpg

Then added some 3/16" to the bottom.

Then back to the truss. Pain in the ass getting it fitted up around the perches and ubolts. Now that it's close to fitting, and did some measuring I need to figure out what the hell to do with the shocks. Gonna have to really hack it up to keep the shocks where they are, or move the bottom mounts further back. Or ditch the truss. Or get a truss for the top. Or I was eyeing if I can get the shocks in front of the axle. Would be a tight fit by the gastank.

can't just notch the truss for the lower mounts?
