OMG saw your instagram post, what an amazing build thread, I think you shouldn't fabricate things tho, then I can't get the same brand mods. What brand is your skottle.

when you zoom in the shadow and lack of a proper beard makes it look like his chin is missing but it's just blending in well with the background rocks.

I finally woke up early enough to get one of those sweet, @turbodb -esque sunrise pictures. Peeking out the window of the GFC, I saw the colors starting to pop. You see, it's not as often as I like that I get to wake up in a place like this, so it's only fitting I should finally take the opportunity to get the shot. Too many mornings I've debated getting out of the warm sleeping bag just to take a picture, but never quite convinced myself to do so. This would be the morning.

I should have known it was a futile attempt to begin with, given my mediocre photography abilities. Kind of like every time I've ever tired to take a picture of the night sky... Anyways, I'm not a morning person, but maybe all that wine and then that last beer that @TMFF handed me that I didn't need had something to do with it. Regardless I thought I was going to finally get the picture - sunrise at one of my top 3 campsites ever. So with my camera in the trusty landscape setting, I wandered out of bed and to the edge of the cliff to take one of my favorite panoramas....

....and I missed it by a minute.

This project sucks, but I think I'm about there. Every time I look, I find more issues. There was cracking by every mount. Fingers crossed this holds up for a while, cause I'm not pulling the bed again anytime soon.

Just another day in the life...

I'm so tired of fixing this thing. :pout:

As I undid those bolts on the front of the bed to add those supports, I was thinking how I haven't touched those until today. There's probably not too many left on the truck at this point.

looks like a solid fix. I know my bed on Frank is totally fucked too.

I prefer what Ryan did to his bed for an overall fix and long term. But i don't think you'll have any issues with this.

Looks great Brett. Would you say the topper and the GFC weight about the same or is the GFC lighter? Would you say it's been the weight that's really done the bed mounts in? Because you aren't running a body lift like Ryan was right?

Ryan's was no doubt a more complete fix. I'm hoping this will be sufficient though.

When I started it was just the front mounts, but since turned into a lot more than that. So not sure if it ended up being much easier.

    Never had a body lift.

GFC weighs double-ish what the topper did. So I think that's the big issue. Although it's not more than most RTT/bedrack combos. So really, the same reason everything else on my truck cracks and breaks. :cookiemonster:
