Leave the 2nd gen alone after putting the GFC on it and get the 1st gen working again.

But the 1st gen isn't even broken. Just did an 2k+ mile eaf fishing trip with zero issues.

I'm sure they do good work, but @TMFF always sorts me out with shocks.

Plus I want some King/Icon/Fox franken shocks so everyone and no one can question my shock choices all at the same time.

You should get those foam shocks that are all the rage in the 3rd gen forums.

Let me dig through the parts bins and see what I can find. For sure some Icon's and could add King Resi's just for fun.

Not sure about 37s and IFS for the time in between now and when it will get SASed. :notsure:

And I don't want to regear twice.

37’s would only make it more of a shitbox.

Sounds like the way to go is to both avoid regearing twice and buying tires twice. Straight to SAS it is then.

By the time you tub for 35's with ifs I'd just go 37's. You'd have a benefit of SAS giving you more clearance from the firewall, so that is another consideration. Tubbing twice for some strange reason would be sucky.

35’s to 37’s is a huge leap. Stock IFS doesn’t really hold up to 35’s all that well and 37’s are asking for a ton of trouble

Yes I concur with @Zizzle - knowing how much tubbing 35's took to clear full lock full bump for me, I'd go 37's immediately without the middle step whatever it may be - weak ifs or increased down time SAS - but if it's a matter of years in between that's different. Maybe I got the idea that this would be like back to back projects and then it would make sense to go 37's immediately.

...sighs. It’s not about the tubbing. A 7.5” diff, stock CV’s, and steering rack are not going to hold up on 37’s. It will wheel much better on 33’s or 35’s when you can actually steer and not be a trail tampon when it breaks every run.

My bad - it was about the amount of work it would take to go to 35's and like 6 months later cut your frame off. But what I was trying to say at the end was it wasn't your idea (looking back) to go to 37's and SAS like next year. With a steering rack slider the rack will most likely not end up noticing as much impact on 37's.

I don't always look at things the same way (subconsciously) with some different components I'm running so I might have been a little to hasty there. I've been thinking 37's and know that all the work on my firewall is not going to be fun to redo on the fact that with my setup all that really is keeping me from doing it would be that and gears.

    true. true true..

however it has been done. Several times. And not just mall crawlers. Though the dude broke 2 CVs every trip at least. lol was manual hubs though.

Silas of course being the gold standard here.

Even ran Bretts favorite 5100s with 37s.
