Appreciate the offer, Bob. I'll keep that in mind, but don't see myself ended back up on the front range.

I feel like this implies you've considered selling one.

You'll always have a place to stay in SLC. Sounds like an exciting non-plan you have!

Fuck Yes Brett. I regret not doing this when I was your age and had the opportunity.... I was scared. After the last year I wish I had the left the world behind instead of worrying how I would ever catch up again if I did that. You will be fine and probably better off for having done it.

I’ve done it for 3 months. If you’re prepared it’s really not bad. Just stay safe.

In town still for a couple more months.

1st gen is buried in snow and hasn't moved in months.

14b has a gov lock and collecting dust.

Slowly working on the 2nd gen.

What else do you need to know? :D

Just if you're off traveling & spreading those wild oats yet instead of building a crawler.

Give me a yell if you head down to the San Juans. I'll show you some real crawler trails.

Won't be crawling in the 2nd gen, but happy to ride along. Or lets hit some real mountain bike trails. Either way, I'll let you know if I'm down that way.

Good news is that it's looking more like I can pull this off and keep the 1st gen. Just means crawler build is delayed a year or so.

An update in here!? Truck hasn't hardly moved since May, and looking even rougher around the edges, but did some un-building this weekend.

    20211116_091054.jpg

Rear bumper will live on on @TMFF 's DCLB, supercharged, 5 speed, mystic gold metallic FTW best gen. Also swapped him leafs while I was at it. His old Deavers are much better suited to my current needs.

Speaking of which, current plans are to wheel it on IFS for at least another year.

    • Have a donor tcase enroute to build a northwest fab box, which will be ordered soon. Hopefully with their triple stick setup when it's available. Hoping that involves clocking the stock case and building a new high clearance trans crossmember to get as close to a flat belly as possible.
    • 35s - currently eyeballing some Nitto trail grapplers in 35x11.50r17 load range C
    • Maybe a set of beadlocks
    • Bob the bed. Originally wanted to take out 13" and have it be short bed length so I could run a softtopper, but now thinking I'll end up somewhere in the 10" range.
    • Along with that - might try to build my own bed rack with soft sides sorta thing.
    • Buy a tube bender and make some super simple rear bumper.
    • Thinking of bedlining the whole truck some grey or beige color as the paint is trashed, and bobing the bed won't help it either...
    • Wheel it

Hopefully have some actual build updates soon.
