Midskid worked well. No bending and no turtles. Thanks for helping me with those mounts. I still feel bad about hanging on to those bits for so long. I make sure to run them to you or something next time I'm back on the front range.

At the end of my week in Moab, I was really tired of hearing my tires digging into my fenders, and extending bump stops seems like a terrible solution to that problem. So, out comes the grinder and the BFH. Lost a bit of sheet metal on the front of the rear wheel wells, as well as the back of the fronts, along with some more of the fender flares. Picked up a tube of seam sealer, so I'm going to clean up any excessive metal in the firewall area, and then will be going to town with the hammer, and seal it all up. If I can't get rid of a lot of the rubbing, I may look more seriously into tubbing. Would be nice to not have any rubbing, and the possibility to move up to 35s at some point in the future.

I think I gained myself quit a bit more firewall clearance today.

So, here's what my firewall's looked like before hand:

    IMAG1087_zpsendlb3jq_493c6b242d12b06c954b89ab2b12c0c7930c7d93.jpg

Hacked off all the flaps of folded over metal I could, smashed it back quite a ways more, and then hit everything with a flap disk:

    IMAG1086_zps1taojxzu_85a9d0894e9ad164c3ac2ff615524ef4c1cb41b9.jpg

Seam sealer to smooth and seal everything off, and a quick coat of paint:

    IMAG1088_zpsthikvqly_ec3f90101b4cc665d31a051be476b17a8843599b.jpg

And what I took out of the front of the rear wheel well:

    IMAG1090_zpsr2wj4gx5_a8f2e993f0a0de65149d5afe6b0f9361ca0a3671.jpg

We'll see how much rubbing I still have.

Also spent a heck of a lot of time just to put this stupid little trim packer in:

Made use of what was left of my rotopax mount, some random hardware, some inner tube, some scrap steel, and my Brother's 110V HF welder to made a quick chainsaw mount for my swingout. Needs some modifications and some paint.

Then went and tested it by doing what I do best trying to get stuck in a snow bank. Didn't succeed at getting stuck, but did clear a dozen or so trees from the trail.

X2. Was looking at a chain saw today. Curious to see how much Gorilla glue you used.

Somebody needs to make a mashup of the texas chainsaw massacre guy (leatherface?) and the home alone kid.

I couldn't find one on the interwebs, my interwebs must be broken. :pout:

Didn't grab any pictures of the mount itself. Really quite simple, and made a 60 mile trip with it yesterday with 10 or so miles of dirt and pulled it off a dozen times with no issues. Most the weight of the saw sits on the 2x2 and receiver tubing that was already there. The only structural thing I welded was two bolts, the bar sits between them and a plate captures it with some wing nuts. A cam-lock strap finished it off. Similar in concept to a mount I use with the dirt bikes.

No gorilla glue, that probably costs more than the HF welder after some coupons anyways.

Is that going to be the new Nickelodeon show?

Looks pretty sweet hanging off the back there, with that being said, I will only ever run it when I know I need it. Love the simple receiver tube setup on the swingout.

Looks good, other than the welds. Haha. I will have to take a good look at it when I am up there this weekend.
