If he were actually using his degree, he'd be figuring out how many beans would fit in his sliders.

Seemed like a practical solution to make use of existing stuff on the truck. Thanks for the idea and motivation!

And yep, happy to finally get things done on this rig I've been wanting to.

:luvya: Apparently, enough beans to buy truck parts.

A small handful of select mods.
FYI I have seen a tube bumper used to store air "pop". Nothing crazy hit the corner hard and the weld broke. Loud pop like when you remove an airline from a tank while it is still under pressure.

Home alone you should do both sliders and then hit deep water. I wanna see ur truck float! :D

I imagine if it were to go it would be a little disconcerting, but not dangerous.

Oh, and dual-slider-air-tank-flotation setup sounds good. But would it prevent me from doing this again?

Just ordered all sorts of push in fittings, various other fittings and adapters, 3/8 OD line, a manifold, a regulator, a pressure switch, and a safety valve.......

.... after that added up I should have just bought an ARB :anonymous: But I'm sticking with this project.

Right now I'm at about the same cost as the single ARB. Add a tank in there if the slider doesn't work out and I'm still well below the cost of a dual. Went with a 120psi cutoff, and a regulator so I can still run the locker at 90psi. Having a tank at that PSI will also have other benefits compared to just a compressor. I also got a nice bulkhead fitting so I'll have a quick connect on my front bumper and won't even have to open the hood.

But I ordered all the parts yesterday. Might get to it next weekend if the weather stays nice. Also won't be finishing the wiring for a bit as I want to clean up all the wiring in the cab.

    :smack:

Also, front locker is en route. Gears will be shortly. Can't wait. :yay:

How are you liking those Hankooks? Might be my next tire choice but in 285's. I have duratracs and they haven't let me down but I like how the Hankooks look

I've been happy with them. Overall a much nicer tire than the KM2s. That being said, they're still a mud terrain and come with the associated noise, wear, and poor winter handling. Mine have somewhere around 25K on them and they're about done, but a lot of that is my fault due to driving on them with messed up alignments. I think I'll burn them up in Moab and then replace them, not sure what I'll end up with. @Wishbone Runner has had good luck with them regarding wear, but has sliced through 2 sidwalls.

Down here we sadly don't get the winter weather so it shouldn't be an issue. How loud is the sound or is it just a hum?

I came from the Duras before the Kooks and thought they were quieter new compared to the Duras with only 12K on them FWIW.

For the sidewalls, to be fair, I don't think any tire would have survived my two encounters; one was on a jagged piece of culvert in the trail which sliced but did not go all the way through, and the other was pinched hard between a rock and the rim at 12 psi with the full weight of the truck on a sidehill, so IDK. I have been really happy with them, 30K or so and maybe half tread left.

Really? That's good news, it'll be a little while before I swap over just thought I'd get some research done way in advanced.

Surprised I wasn't even sub'd in this thread. Guess I'll have to catch up on 56 pages
