Actually, I've been looking for several months, and I don't think I saw another white, limited, hatch. Leather heated seats, moonroof, and HID headlights are really nice.

Although I didn't realize they were adjustable last night, and was confused why the cutoff was so low :anonymous: When I turned the little wheel to make them go up they worked much better.

Seems like 3/4 of them made were either silver or the WR blue.

Meh, prolly the most modern thing you've driven in the last 10 years or so...:D
Nice cars, really. I like them. For the most part. A hunchback too, panty dropper.
Living in my area, you might understand the lack of love for them.

    Would drive though.

Very nice. Just turned over 70k in mine. Treat her well and she'll return the favor!

No, but I'm going to mess with them this winter, not entirely happy with how they're working. They touch at ride height, and hit a little sideways, on a hard hit they blow right through them because they're not hitting square and push them to the side. They may work a little better in the front LCA location as opposed to the rear though.

Debating fabbing a mount so they hit further out on the arm like the 2nd gens if possible, shaving them slightly, or just say screw it and get some hydro bumps.

Nah hydros on the LCA im not sure is worth it.

Bumping off the LCA in general sucks.

I had hoped to make mounts like 2nd gens for Frank. But I have a strike plate and ample room on the LT LCA. Think it won't work well on the stock one.

I was thinking of cutting them down and doing it at an angle perhaps. To make them square. And lower them a bit.

Cool car man, bet it feels good to give the Tacoma a rest and enjoy some spirited get around.

I had the superbumps on the front. They touched at ride height too and started compressing under any up travel. I took them off and put the stock ones back on. Feels a lot better to me allowing the shock to do its thing. I haven't felt a hard hit recently. Although not ideal it was easy to improve ride in 5 mins.

Good news is that when you blow a head gasket two guys (well two guys with bigger arms than you) can pull that little motor out by hand.

Care to electorate given the fact it bumps off the LCA from the factory, and most every LT build on here bumps off the LCA.

So you're volunteering to donate your garage and your time? That's very nice of you.

He is talking about the forces applied to the lower ball joint when bumping of the lower control arm, it is not ideal but everyone does it. If you could bump off of the uca the forces trying to rip a ball joint apart are minimized.

    That's one part of it.

But it's mostly the shitty motion ratio because you have to mount the air bump so far up the arm (close to the inner pivot point) that you only need or use 2" or less of the stroke of the air bump unless you have a very high ride height. IMO not worth it on stock lower arms and you get or tune a bump zone with bypasses on an LT kit.

The way it would have to be mounted though, it would move it out further on the arm than the stock bump location. Thinking whatever I do might involve cutting off the stock sway bar mount and maybe adding a little metal for a so called bump plate.

Any other suggestions for bumps on a stock LCA then?

It does move farther out than the stocker but there isn't much room on a stock arm to fit it in there. It would be way too many compromises for it to work how you want. Plus they are pretty loud every time they hit.

What is wrong with the stock bump stop? Have you looked at energy suspension or daystar? they might have something that is a little shorter than the wheelers so they don't get pushed sideways on compression.

Stock bumps? Might as well put a piece of concrete in there.

My goal is to soften hard hits. The superbumps have proved successful on 2nd gens, but aren't working as well for me.

    Sorta this.

The problem is as you stated range of motion. The best place to bump off is the UCA at the spindle. This means the bumps do get used till the actual last 2" of travel.

Even a 2" hydro mounted with a lt kit off the LCA will start engament around the last 4-5" of travel.msimilar to what your experiencing.

Means your into the bumps a lot.

I would be extremely impressed if you could fit a hydro on a stock LCA without some major changes.

    Sounds like a challenge.

I may pick up a set of 2.0x2" bumps, and if they don't work in the front they'll go well in the back.

Yea be easy to put in the back.

I'm gonna try the angled cut on my front super bumps. See how that turns out. I think if done right they will cushion the last bit of travel and leav the stock one to stop it.

I have the same ones as Jason and they are on the softer side. I drilled and taped into where factory bumps hit and put my bumps there facing downward toward the LCA and they work great. Yes I have LT but they work great.
