Came across this thread awhile back and forgot to post when i got mine fixed...

I took mine to the dealership multiple times and they greased them and told me they were working on a fix. They finally found one and inserted small rubber discs in-between the leafs. No more squeak.

Sadly for some this is only a bandaid to the problem. In my case the leaf pack has nylon spacers between all the leafs but it still squeaked regardless of terrain below the rubber. The cause for the squeak for my truck was caused by incorrect clamping pressure from the U-bolts my axle shows wear due to it. All is good now but I figured I should share a little wisdom.

Seeing the third gen section forced me to get a Ford...
the guide incorrectly says 37 ft/lb but i think most say that should be reversed to 73 ft/lb.

I had a 1984 4x4 pickup for 8 years, no squeeks. I also had a 1992 4x4 pickup for 20 years it started squeeking near the end but I figgured it was OK because I had run it hard on logging roads lots of times and never replaced any of the suspension components. My 2017 Tacoma sport 4x4 developed a nasty squeek the first time I took it on a logging road - it only has 3000km on it. All my co-workers drive Fords and have a great laugh when they hear it. The dealership I bought the truck says Toyota hasn't issued a fix for the problem and suggested I bring it in so they can pressure wash the leaf springs which should fix the problem until I go on a dirt road again. If you only drive your truck on the road you probably won't have this problem. For me, off road driving is why I bought the truck in the first place. More people need to pressure Toyota to fix this unacceptable problem......

Bought a 2017 TRD Sport this past Saturday. The front passenger side suspension is squeeking and creeking just like a my grandfathers old farm truck. Took it by the dealership and the service manager said not to worry he would make sure it got fixed. I've had the truck 5 days and the tire shine from the original wash job hasn't even worn off, yet.o_O

Mine squeaks after we take it off-roading. I powerw the hell out of the leaf springs and it goes away.
A trusted mechanic told me it was bushings but after we washed it the sound went away.

Washing is only a temporary fix though.
