    Hi folks,

Bought my new to me - certified pre-owned 2014 TRD Sport 6-speed in May.

For a few weeks now my clutch pedal has been getting squeekier & squeekier, and it feels like shifting has gotten a little clunkier. I never had squeeks before.

Any ideas as to why this might be happening? / Tips for keeping up with clutch maintenance on Tacomas?

    Thanks
    -FANG

Thanks! - I'll check out that thread and apply some white lithium grease to the pivot points.

*UPDATE* - I applied white lithium grease to the push rod where it enters the master cylinder and the squeak is now gone. This was the first time i've gotten under there and had a good look around. I was surprised to see that the clutch pedal is some sort of plastic. Doesn't seem like the pedal assembly is built to withstand the long term wear & tear of manual driving. - interesting...

Hope it stays squeak free for awhile! If not, hop in that thread and ask what others use, as one member said that he applied something and it hasn't come back in like a year.

I definitely will. Also I found an interesting Toyota Technical Service Bulletin while searching for an assembly diagram, which indicates that this squeaky clutch is a warranty covered issue in 5&6 speed MT Models clutch assembly from 2005-2014: https://www.toyotaparts.metro-toyota.com/TSB-0186-12-Clutch-Pedal-Squeak-Noise.pdf

Yep! I had my entire clutch assembly replaced under that TSB. I forgot to mention that because I assumed you were out of your 3 year/36k warranty which is what it's covered under.

I might be actually - If i'm still inside the warranty than i'm just barely inside. My brother-in-law works at the dealership, I'll see what they can do. Either way, i'd have to wait until this grease wears off before anyone would believe me that its was squeaking!!

The TSB assembly also squeaks - ask me how I know... I slathered a good coat of never-seize on the pedal to rod pivot. Jammed it in there with an 'acid brush' (the kind plumbers use to apply flux) and the squeak has been gone for over a year now.
