I never go Off Road (always freeway or smooth streets), so the Sport suspension is fine for me. At times it does remind me of how my Corvette handled bumps, so I guess that is why I am more forgiving.

I was reading intently and looked at the dates on the first page and was like...WTF?

The differences haven't changed much, my guess.

It's good to see a review of the differences.

Sport-tuned suspension is great for this mostly road driver.

I've always had sr5's since they were introduced. Only had one decades ago with a major issue fail in warranty which toyota took care of within a week. Toyota sr5 4wd trucks have been very good to me being able to be useful for everything i've needed them for....even some sketchy off-trail stuff encountered on fishing trips.

For the price difference alone, I'd rock an SR5 over a Sport any day!

I wanted a sport initially, but couldn't find one in my area that met my preferences with color and packages. I didn't want leather seats/moon roof, I didn't want red blue green paint, and i didn't want a long bed.

Came across a SSM DCSB Sr5 with red accented interior, color matched bumper caps, tech package (bsm), premium entune with navigation, and a few goodies.

The price difference was $7000-$10,000 between the 2021 SR5 I bought and the Sports that I could find. In the end, I didn't have to pay for stuff i didn't want or need and was able to customize the way I wanted without feeling like I wasted money on a TRD sport. Also i didn't care about the OR because I'm a baby and would never off road my truck lol.

Really happy with how my SR5 turned out. Put new wheels and tires on it. Put a TRD Lift Kit on it (bilstein 5100s), Morimoto xb led headlights, trd pro tails, meso dome and map lights, meso stage 1 tails, TRD skid plate, blackout emblems and exhaust tip, predator steps, and soon a tonneau and DD SS3 Yellow fogs

Its only around $1900 MSRP between the SR5 and the Sport/OR, but if you are on a tight budget that can make sense.

Back in july 21, i couldn't find a sport or OR for under 46k. I paid 39k for my SR5. Avoided all the crap I didn't want ex) leather seats, moon roof, push to start, suspensions I was going to replace with a lift

Obviously ones loaded with options would be higher, also with all the supply issues you kinda have to take what is available unless you can afford to wait.

Love my OR, no regrets, but I would have happily rocked an SR5 and built it up.:smokertransformer:

I think many like a buddy of mine over buy for whatever reason idk. I can't figure why, when the sr, or sr5 will do most everything needed if one lives hear in the northeast. Were not into rock crawling, or driving up super steep sketchy grades. Most your going to encounter is deep mud, and snow, and icy roads.

Sometimes it has to do with configurations or options too, to get a manual transmission you have to step up to the TRD lineup, outside of 2016 and 2017 when you could still get it in the SR.
