Does anyone know how to reset the SRS light on the dash below the tac?....I think what has happened is when I was making a u-turn the other day and my tire hit the curb it tripped the light. The airbags did not deploy at all. Also I read that this light goes on for 6 seconds when you sart your truck and then goes off. This tells you that your seatbelt tension device is working correctly. I start the truck,it goes on for 6 seconds and then goes off. It kicks back on tho when the truck has been in motion for about 2 minutes. It does not blink,it just stays on. I think it had to do with my tire/rim hitting the curb and knocking a sensor some where. It was the right front passenger tire/rim that hit the curb. (sucks!)...no damage to the rim tho! I was very lucky and it hit the balancing weight. Anyway, can this be reset some how or does the dealer need to hook the diagnostic up to it?
    Thanks!

Find a shop with a gynisis machine like Tire Kingdom and they can do advanced code reading. The SRS system is real tricky to diagnose sometimes.

In my past experiences with Airbag lights, the problem is usually the connection to the airbag and not the airbag itself.

If you take it to a dealership, they will tell you that they need to replace the airbag and charge you $700 - $800.

I went through this whole experience with a Infinity I-30 that had a airbag light that kept coming on and a dealership that would have been more than happy to keep changing different air bags as long as I was stupid enough to pay them.

I had an extended warranty - but they only pay for repairs to the system and not the airbags themselves!

Try to locate a third party repair place that specializes in power window repairs. They will usually either repair Airbag issues or know someone that will do it. I had a tech come to my house, reset the connection under my seat, show me how to reset the light all in the space of 45 minutes and to the tune of $75.

I don't mind paying for work when it is well done and sensible.
