I have a 2016 Tacoma with the standard automatic adjustable side mirrors with no signal light. However, I would like to upgrade to the TRD 2018 side mirrors with the LED signal light. Has anyone done this before? does anyone have a wire diagram for both? I am looking to rewire the connectors to fit. Let me know if this a fail or not.

The slots on connector 1A and/or IK2 n IC3 respectively, would be missing the wire in your model. I haven't verified. maybe there is a wire up to each kick panel and none to the door and to O2 and O3.

This is great! yeah I would assume so. I was planning on installing a fuse tap for the turn signal and wiring the mirror turn signal. Do you know if the led style side mirrors also come with blind spot sensors? if so, thats another wire that I will be missing.

The mirror only has an indicator LED for that circuit, the sensors are in the corners of the bumper.

Understood. Okay, so I guess upgrading the side mirrors shouldn't be a huge problem. I have placed the order for them so I will send pictures and possibly videos to show everyone how to.....completely mess up my side mirrors or upgrade to the new style. we will see

From my understanding a fuse tap is were you plug in a two to one fuse that grants you the ability to use the main fuse as a double port. If i am not mistaken, thats what they call it.

That's what it is, but why would you need one to tap the signal per side?

My thought is that, because both of the side mirrors currently does not have a signal light, the mirrors dont have any power source wire to feed into the connector. So the current connector only has power wire for the automatic mirror adjustment. Therefore, I will need to fuse tap the existing signal light fuse to route the wires to the new upgraded mirrors.

That would be incorrect. You'd need t-taps to the rear signal wires.

(To avoid the DRL feature, which is part of the Front turn signals on a SR/SR5)
But since you have a PRO, then the Front Signal wires. The required missing wire would be the ground to the signal LED.
These wires are easily accessed on the Combination Meter connector C10.

Oh thats right!!!!! I did not even think about that! Dang so I will have to tap T-tap into both rear signal wires to connect respectively then. Dang, that would have been a huge fail! Well I guess the LEDs on the signal light would just be running on with DRL the entire time. I wonder if that would have cause a hyper-flash?

Nope, that's not the way it performs. On an SR/SR5 the circuit that controls DRL/Turn is the same. So when certain inputs are met the DRL is ON (steady), when TURN is selected it flashes. After low beam is selected the DRL feature turns OFF.
On your PRO, the DRL is a separate circuit from the TURN circuit, but also turns OFF after low beams are selected.
