So today I was on my way to a mod meet today and had about 150+ lbs of gear and tools in the bed. I was in the left lane for a left exit coming up and doing about 65 in a 60. I saw a dodge coming up hot (probably do ~75-80) so I put on my turn signal and pull over to the right lane to let him pass. He wasn't the patient type and already decided to swerve into the right lane to pass me and wasn't to happy I "cut him off." He swerved back into the left lane, and just as a "fuck you," cut me off and slammed the brakes. I had to hit my brakes and swerve to avoid hitting his car and lost control (the rain and shifting 150+ lbs of shit in the bed didnt help). I swerved and over corrected and swerved harder. Now at this point I should have taken my foot of the brake and either tapped the gas or applied the e-brake to correct but I was kind of panicking and over corrected a third time. The third time was the worst and I feel if I corrected a forth, the truck would have rolled. Instead the driver side corner of my Trail gear bumper saved me by slamming into the concrete barrier. When it hit, I thought my truck was toast.

    Lesson's learned:

-Tie your shit down good and tight in your bed. If it gets loose and you swerve, the shifting weight will brake shit and cause you to loose control.
-Dont slam your brakes when making a drastic turn. If you do, correct by pumping/releasing brakes. Using the e-brake and/or giving some gas can straighten out a swerving tail.
-Dont take your sway bar off. Mine is going back on. Time to find some quick disconnects... (especially with a damn turbo.... Gonna be honest, Im considering selling this damn thing after almost killing myself today)
-If some shit dick pulls a stunt like that, put your rear bumper into their back seat.

The Trail Gear bumper completely and utterly saved my truck from total destruction. The hit was so violent, I was expecting to see find my bed in a different zip code. Trail Gear bumper took it like a champ, ALMOST shrugging it off. Truck still drives straight and true with no ass wobble. Still going to get the frame looked at this week.

Def. Send me a PM when you have them ready
Thanks man. It was shitty but I walked away from it so Im not too upset.
Hell yeah thanks again for the bumper :D. Yeah, it was scary as all hell so I think at least the sway bar is going on. Monte has successfully convinced me to keep the turbo by introducing me to the "Rock Lobster" build :D
    Thanks man

Haha, thaks, and I would love some LT.

Good news of the day is insurance adjuster called and I qualify under the under/non insured coverage (bassically if you get hit by someone not/under insured). Deductable goes from $500 (for a $350 bumper :() to $200 + free rental as needed :D.

    Gotta love USAA!

Went good. Waited like 4+ hours for Jon (Spot) to do his tie rods then knocked it out in like 10-20 min. :p

In the mean time, helped Jake swap his rear suspension.
No shit, right? This is my first auto claim but so far its been easy as hell.
