Hello!Thank you for any help.My system has been playing great but for the last month i noticed static coming from the front speakers,Not both at once,It can be the left side one day and the right on another day,It's not constant but happens almost everyday that i listen to it.First i thought it was my Bluetooth,I turned the Bluetooth and wifi off from my phone and head unit and still heard static,I tried turning my phone and ipod off,That did not work,I tried a CD and at first all was well then it started with static again,Only the front speakers do this because they are amped and the back are running of the head unit. Now I'm thinking the RCA's?Or ground issue?I looked at the RCA'S and i did run them on the same side as power wire which was not smart of me but never picked up engine noise,I was thinking of removing the head unit and taking the ground out of the harness and grounding the radio to metal and moving the RCA'S to the other side of the truck.I'm just not sure after all this time,I would start getting static noise in the system. My head unit is the pioneer X5800BHS and the amps are JL,Speakers are Hertz Hi Energies,RCA'S I'm using are stinger 6000 series with NVX 4 Gauge Power and Ground.Thank you!

I tried new RCA cables on the other side of my truck,I checked amp ground,Its bolted down,I cut the ground out of the radio harness and grounded it separately .I was listening to a CD in the truck and waited on the static noise,I turned the radio off and unplugged the RCA's from the amp and turned the radio back to CD and still heard it.I even turned my dash camera off to see if there was any interference..lol It seems like it mostly comes from the left side front more than both front speakers lately,Does not happen all the time but it starts about 5 or 10min min into the music list...This problem happens on all sources...Could it be the pioneer outputs for the amp going bad or be defective?

Maybe. Sounds like it could be the amp too. Keep working to isolate the problem. You can just use something like a phone for amp inputs (just make sure you go into airplane mode first). Maybe that will let you listen long enough to pin down the culprit.

Thank you!Im going to try that today...If I unplugged the amp and still heard the static it still could be the amp?

With no input and you're still getting the noise, seeing how it's the last thing in the signal chain, I'd be looking pretty hard at the amp. Which JL amp? Do you note any level changes when this happens? Anything else accompany the noise?

Err, wait, what do you mean you unplugged the amp? You mean cut the power to it or just the inputs?

No just unplugged the rca's from the amp....Yes!I do notice something! It seems like before it happens it gets a little louder in audio before it happens....It plays normal lets say at volume 20 then i can hear a slight difference in volume before it happens. The amp is a 400/4 jl audio.

I dunno man. If all your connections are in order & your voltage is good, might be time to toss in the backup. Amps are just there to do one thing - amplify. If it's making noises on its own, especially new stuff, it probably needs some parts.

If you haven't checked all your power, speaker & ground connections, that can maybe do this. Bad grounds can do all sorts of weird stuff.

I spent DAYS chasing a static noise when I did my install. Installed a new amp and it was gone. Nothing can fix a crappy amp.

Roughly. I was just getting static noise throughout. I spent days swapping out RCAs, playing with the positioning of where I ran my wires, messing with grounds, etc. Nothing helped until I got rid of the cheap shitty Dual amp. Hooked up a kicker and problem was immediately gone. I even had the RCA's running next to the power wire and didn't get any feedback at all.

I know this is an old post but I had the same issue twice with the same model amp. It’s moisture getting into the amp. Doesn’t take much. Just for future reference...
