I watched my AAA guy get into my truck in under 5 min after my keys were locked in the truck. Also the alarm doesn’t sound if you lock the doors manually when you get out instead of with the fob.
The AAA guy used an inflatable air bag and a wedge to open the top of door a bit then used a wire to hook the lock switch. Pretty quick.

Didn't work in our apartment complex. Burglar got shot trying to rob a couple and we have had steady crime since. they hired a rent a cop to drive around like a walmart parking lot attendant. Dude circled the neighborhood twice and then left every night and they couldn't figure out why crime didn't drop.

Get a good camera system out front and point it at your beloved taco and hope it catches them in the act. Aside from that, when you take the key out, crank the wheel, it locks it and you won't be even able to turn the key unless the wheel is turned while turning the key. Kill switch could be a better option though. Wire in a hidden switch and when you park in shady areas flip it. you'll lose your radio data but that's a small price to pay.

Just unplug the ECU fuse, problem solved. Truck won’t start at all.

If there's a rear slider, it's even easier after doing it once. Hilariously easy.

We had our company truck stolen so we came up with an ingenious anti theft device. We tapped into the ignition circuit so that when the key is turned (or hot wired or ignition cylinder forced) it will turn the starter but no power is sent to the coils therefore no start. Thieves keep trying to start due to the starter turning but no start. The ignition circuit was run through the cigarette lighter. We then had a charging cord modified. Push the charging cord plug into the cigarette lighter and boom circuit completed and the truck will start.

Wheel locks are very easy to bypass.... just over tighten the non wheel lock lugs and it’ll all you to loosen the wheel locks. Don’t kid yourself that wheel locks would have made a difference.

Well aware of that. But doing so triggers my new alarm. Gorilla locks have a spinning top which helps against that. I’d suggest multiple locks of different kinds.
Nothing can stop a determined thief but you can make sure they waste as much time as possible. Tilt censor on my alarm as well I’m good now

Say whatcha want but club on st wheel and one of those unpickable, unfreezable, unshootable, unsawable pedal locks on clutch pedal means time spent to try and defeat club and clutch pedal not depressable to floor = starter kill. Bar on rear slider, multiple tailgate locks, multiple wheel locks & oem stereo = much easier and profitable targets elsewhere. Garage is also huge deterrant at home. The clutch pedal lock also has some 50 or 75k warranty on it if defeated some unknown way. Bullets are faster than thieves too.

Helpful hint for wheels....tighten lock(s) last and loosen first.

Yeah, anything is possible past a certain point.........move that point farther out every way you can and improve your odds.

easiest way the dirtbags are stealing vehicles now is with a stinger. Like a repo guy has. Fast and quiet and no locks, alarms, etc. are going to do you any good.

Replacing everything worn, broken, and rusted.
Read your post. What a dismal display of help they gave you. I read another post here on TW about odometer fraud where the local PD gave the same response. Not a wonder so many crimes are occuring. Even if they did, a greaseball lawyer would probably get them out of it. SMH.

That is very creative... just hope you never need to use the cigarette socket while you are driving!

I like the cigarette lighter "push to start" Basically, you un hook the +12v wire from your cigarette lighter then, when you push the lighter in it now has a ground coming out of the +12v wire from the lighter. You connect wire that to a relay that connects to the starter wire of our vehicle which has been disconnected from the ignition switch. Works great!

Ok ok. If it’s a battle of deterrent vs determined. Determined wins every time.

Theives don't hotwire vehicles anymore, ever. A "good" thief (sic) can get into a Tacoma with a special shaped flat blade screwdriver as quickly as you can get in with the key. The Clubs steel is thick but that steering wheel cuts like butter with almost any hand saw, the wheel can be cut in less than 2 minutes, and the steering wheel is bent to get The Club off. If the stock key is chipped most theives will vandalize and move on, if the stock key isn't chipped they'll typically use a filed key to start the truck and be driving away in a few seconds. Car alarms will deter most theives as there's just too many vehicles that don't have car alarms.

If they want it they'll get it. <-period

I saw a 911 Turbo being dragged onto a flatbed in San Francisco. The headlights were wig-wagging, the parking lights were blinking, the stock horn and air horns were honking, all 4 tires were locked, and that sucker was gone in 10-15 seconds.

The latest thing that was occurring when I stopped working in the industry is theives would break into a house while the people in it were sleeping to get the car keys. High end cars were getting stolen a lot by this method.
