    Well, I finally have it!
I've resarched the crap out of this thing, test drove a few of them and I am not disappointed!

Because I've read that some owners are finding their transmissions and diff's low on fluid I picked up some toyota differential fluid and manual transmission fluid. If mine are low, I can do something about it.
I also picked up a few oil filter cartridges for when it's time to do that.
Tomorrow I'll get the truck to the shop and verify fluid levels and report back.

Congrats on your truck! I love mine. I had the tsb done today on the auto tranny....made a big difference. I thought the low tranny fluid was just on the automatics with tow package. I never even considered a manual when I bought my truck. I checked three dealers...nobody has a TRD manual. I'm finding myself wanting to drive one to see what it is like.

    Thanks Robert.
Happy to hear you like yours also!
I've driven both auto and manual and am very happy with the new 6 speed manual transmission.
My truck was brought in from a dealer 3 hours away. I bought it with 377kms on it but I agreed to the kms in order to have the truck driven to my dealership. And "my" dealership was an hour away from me. lol

In preperation of having the truck undercoated with fluid film by Krown Rust Prevention I am spraying all rubber bushings, lines, gromets and seals with silicone spray to prevent the undercoating from swelling or destroying those parts over time.

I also greased my U-Joint zerks. In my model there are only two up front.

Directions on how to do this:

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/check-your-u-joints.409042/

My zerks took 3-5 pumps before all the air was expelled and I had grease coming out of all 4 joints.

It's first time in the shop!

My Rear Diff took 700ml before it started coming out of the fill hole.
My Manual Transmission took 300ml before it started coming out of the fill hole.
My Front Diff took 300ml before it started coming out of the fill hole.

FSM says 5mm below fill plug and higher is acceptable.
On the rear diff I estimate I had to reach well past 5mm to touch fluid.
On my Transmission I couldn't reach the fluid level but it requires reaching at an awkward angle.
On my front diff I could not reach the fluid level with my finger.

I ordered an Aluminum version of the plastic oil filter housing from toyota today. When I do my first oil change I'll swap it out.

Had the truck detailed today by the local professionals -Banks Cleaning and Maintenance-
It's true the dealership 'detailed' the truck before I got it. My friend owns this shop and they do high end work. I will generally get them to do a full meal deal on a new vehicle I buy. They way I look at it is this service provides actual paint and fabric protection thats will help both last as long as possible if I maintain it.

    The Exterior service in steps:
    -Wash
    -Knock Out
    -Wash
    -Chamois
    -Angel Polish 9H Primer
    -Angel Polish Cosmic
    -Wait 45 Minutes
    -Remove
    -Wait an Hour
    -Angel Polish Cosmic
    -Wait 45 Minutes
    -Remove

    Interior:
-Fabric Protector on Floor Carpet, Carpet Mats & Seats.
-Aerospace 303 Rubber Protector on Rubber Mats

Changed my display pictures using this tutorial.

    https://youtu.be/soXifqOWRcY

Great tutorial but does not address the following requirement.
Mac users need to format the USB drive to MS-DOS (FAT). This is FAT32 format which the Entune system requires.
And if your OS has the option to choose a scheme, select Master Boot Record.

    Screen Shot 2017-02-01 at 8.53.15 PM.jpg

If you do not use this format this is the message you will see on your screen.

Had the truck undercoated with Krown Fluid Film. Not my first vehicle to have been done by them.
As far as I can tell they did a great job.

Filled up the truck today. Second tank of fuel!
The display was telling me I only had 32kms left before empty but the truck only accepted 65L of fuel and it has an 80L tank.
Regardless I calculated I got 18.09 MPG out of that tank. Not bad IMO considering we're using winterized fuel atm.

I'm thinking of having a gerry can of fuel in the back of the truck and running this tank completely empty to see how much I can actually get out of a tank, how far past 'empty' I can go before the truck stops and how much fuel I can pump in afterwords. I think it's crazy that it says it's empty when it has nearly 18% of it's fuel still in the tank. That's approximately an additional 118 kms of travel assuming it would use all the fuel in the tank, which it wouldn't.

My bed mat and aluminum oil housing arrived and I managed to stop in and pick then up today. The Toyota dealership I choose to deal with is 1 hour away from where I live.
May seem extreme but I have family that lives in that area as well so it's not usually a special trip to the Toyota dealership.
