Hello Everyone, I replaced my steering rack on a 2022 Tacoma and after I replaced it a few alerts came up, "traction control and Stability control disable and a few more, I double checked my work and make sure I didn't twisted the Steering column and left the Tie rods ad they were from previously, I took the car to alignment and afterwords, it was good but the alert was still there,I spoke with the alignment shop and they said they couldn't removed the alerts, I brought the car to a few different alignment shops and all told me the same thing and recommended me to bring it to the dealership, I did some research online and I need to do a Zero point calibration and theres a trick with a few paperclips but It looks like it only works on Gen 2 tacomas, so I bought the car to the dealership and they told me they first have to "diagnose the vehicle" which I told them what the issue was and I only needed a calibration but they insisted on "diagnosing the Vehicle" and the quote for a diagnosis was for $500 USD just to diagnose it, I don't want to pay for something as nonsense as that so I am wondering has anyone ran into this issue? and what have you done to solve it? any help will be greatly appreciated

You just need a code reader that can clear ABS codes. I hit a pothole and knocked my alignment way out. The alignment shop re-aligned it without issue, but they couldn’t clear the codes/lights for me. I called the dealer and they wanted a several hundred bucks to “diagnose” and clear everything. I bought this reader on Amazon and cleared all my codes in a few seconds. It’s been probably 8 or 9 months now and no codes again, and it’s nice to have the ability to do it myself if/when it happens again on my Tacoma or the wife’s 4runner.

Curious; why did you replace a steering rack on a 2022?

You need a code reader that can read abs/Trac system codes
