Hey all, i'm new to the forum and I got a question. i just recently bought a 99 tacoma prerunner xc sr5 auto with the 2.7 4cyl. anyways when i'm driving down the road, the truck seems to bounce alot, its like I feel every little bump in the road and around 55-60, the steering wheel shakes back and forth a little bit, nothing major but enough to get on your nerves. I took it to our local tire store and had them balance and rotate the tiresm ny tires are nexen roadian 235-75-15, which are the stock size. all four were just a little out of balance. it helped a little, but steering wheel still shakes a little bit, and i still can feel every little bump in the road. Any suggestions as what it may be? Thanks, Drew from bama.

    So two problems:

~Bouncy truck- If your mileage is up there and the shocks have never been replaced it may be time for some new shocks.

    ~Steering wheel shakes- Alignment?

I was kinda leaning towards shocks, when i push down on the front end and get it bouncing, it just kinda keeps bouncing own its own for a couple of seconds after i stop, i was told that was a sign that shocks are going bad. I also performed the steering rack bushing test I saw on a thread here, and everything looks good in that area. It could possibly be an alignment issue as well. I was going change out the rotors and pads this weekend as they squeal like a pig. Thanks for the replies and anymore suggestions would be appreciated. I'll post when I have performed the ^ task as a go along to see if that solves my problems. btw would i be better off ordering new leaf springs or aal. i have the dreaded axle warp. Thanks, Drew from Bama
