I've had my lift since 07. I put 33's on it when I lifted it and it ran smooth as hell. Then years went by and the steering wheel started shakin like me after a night of drinking.

I had the tires balanced and rotated 10 times or more since then and still cant get the fuckin shakes to go away.

I'm buying 35" tires in 2 weeks and am wondering if i need these for my Eagle alloys:

That is your problem. Go to the best shop in town. The equipment the mex. are using prob. Sucks. My 05 did this too. They really don't like aftermarket tires and wheels. Unless you have a $3000 long travel kit. Keep it aligned and rotate you tires frequently.

Just called Americas tire down the street from me and they said they will give a shot at balancing these and try to eliminate the shake. He said he would do it for free so it's worth a try!

1 place (Les Schwab...blechh) will do road force balancing for me......$100..ridiculous. Gonna try Americas tire tomorrow and go from there.

none as of yet there is not much to offer here in germany ,but when i get back to the states next year it's a different ball game
Hey guy's i have the same problenm and in my opinion it's the tire for me,i was originally running standard all seasons from facotry on my truck but living in germany all seasons won't cut the mustard so i opted for all terrain and that's when my vibes started at 65-75 mph go figure process of ellimination i went back to the repair shop and told them what the problem was and they remounted them again on the rims which are factory and still get the vibes so my suggestion is check your tread that may be a reason for the problem i am sure it's mine all the way but will see when i get new rubber for my tac...be blessed and be real

Americas tire did a bang up job!! Fixed 90% of the shake. It's time for new tires anyways so they are getting mounted in an hour from now.

But they did fix 90% of the shake so it's def the tires.

I really wish there were more places that did the "balance on the car" type of balancing like what was done in the old days. That in effect balanced the entire moving parts of that wheel assy, rim, rotors or drums, axles, etc. It had to be done for each tire and every time they were rotated. Took care of the bad shakes that other off the tire balancers could not.

Hey guys, another victim of the "shake" here. I thought it was mud. I use mine I the oil field every day. Washed the wheels and it was the same. I just crawled under the front end to check things out. The drivers side axle will move a half an inch at the diff! This cannot be right. 2011 with 30'000 miles. Bone stock. For now. Thoughts?

The place that mounted my new rims said that I will have vibes at 60+ but that a hub ring on the rims will help eliminate that. Does that sound right to anyone?

Depends if the wheels are hubcentric or lugcentric.

Did someone really sell you non-hubcentric wheels and not provide the centering rings?

    Here's how to test:
Option 1: pull the lugs off, pull the wheel off and measure the inner diameter of the rim hub indentation, then measure the outer diameter of the hub. If it's the same you're hubcentric and no rings required. I would use actual calipers to measure (like these, http://www.tresnainstrument.com/digital_calipers.html).

Option 2: If no calipers available, remove lugs and wheel, then place wheel back on the hub and back nice and flat so it's just sitting there by friction and gravity, then try to move it around while it's still sitting flat against. If it moves some and isn't a solid tight fit over the hub flange, then you gotta get rings.

Don't buy plastic rings, there are people who sell them, no bueno.

some times even if a tire is in balance, it can still vibrate if it has excessive runnout...and just because tires are new doesnt not mean there out of round. roadforcing them will tell you how much runnout the whole wheel assembly has, whether or not its from the tire or the rim, and depending on how new the roadforce balancers is, it can show how much pull all 4 tires will create depending on where its placed on the car or truck. i personally roadforce all new tires i install at work because i have gotten brand new tires that are bad.

I have the same exact problem now, and its not the first time. I got some Coopers AT 275/65/r18 and I've had the tires rotated, balanced, replaced my whole suspension and it shakes like crazy after 35mph. The owner of the tire shop i took it to said the same thing happened to his 4 Runner, he said for some reason Toyotas rotors when hot tend to do that and tend to get uneven. He told me he never had his rotors resurfaced so many times before that car he eventually replaced them. Same here, after i get my rotors resurfaced, the shaking stops but eventually it comes back and just gets worse.

You just need proper lug nuts. Thats all they did for me when I went back for this problem right after I put my wheels and tires on. The OEM lugs are for Hubcentric whels only!
