Check out my Build to See!
They never put weights on my wheels when I bought the truck....can you believe it? I took it back 3 times and they finally balanced them!

I'm taking my truck back in on Friday for a second look. The major steering wheel shake was fixed (for the most part) by balancing but something's still not right. At certain speed and on certain road the steering wheel still shakes, feels like the whole truck is shaking sometimes. Hard to pinpoint an exact speed/time that it shakes but it does it more than I want to deal with. Will see what they, if anything, they find.

So you're having pretty simlar issues like me! That sucks, but I can totally relate. At like 40-45 mph my steering wheels shakes, and it reflects the pavement Im on. If Im driving on concrete the shake is there, but not as bad; but if the pavement is distressed asphalt, then the shake worsen, a lot. Yeah I'll keep checking in to see what the dealership says. Im hesitate due to the fact I've lifted mine and put bigger tires on.

I'll let you know what they say. It's so hit or miss that it's hard to describe. Hopefully they find something.

Looks like my issue is, hopefully, the stock BF Goodrich tires that came on it. They road force balanced them, 2 of the ones on the truck failed that test so they took the 2 new ones they had in stock and one of them had issues too. So of the 6 tires they tried to road force balance, 3 of them failed to road force balance correctly. Have to go back when they get more in stock. Will see if it fixes my shaking issue. They put the 2 good ones on the front and they seems pretty stable. Back end still shakes pretty good though.

Well thats some good news. I'll have to look for a shop in town to do the road force balance. May be pretty spendy since my tires are not stock. Good luck, still would like to hear the turn out!!

I'll keep posting any updates. Dealership seems very willing to work with me right now, hopefully it stays that way.

Got my first toyota, its a 2008 v6 sr5 offroad 2 dr clubcab, I have some shaking in the frontend very minor but happens occasionally, also the front end seem a little loose, can't keep itself going straight like my last vehicle although it was a car, I just aquired it a couple weeks ago, 60,000 km and new tires when I got it. Just wondering with this info where should I look first? Was gonna just say screw it and take it for a 4 wheel alignment and get all the tires rebalanced...I noticed other complaints here...not sure what is the sure fix in this case, don't wanna take it in and pay money only to have it happen worse or stay the same...is it normal for these to stray a bit on the highway...will it cause more tire wear if I have it aligned to keep itself going straight a little better and is there something I could mention to the tire place I go to so that they will fix it good the first time! I noticed it needs the special toyota rim balancer adaptor from reading here.

I hope it's fixed permanently for you. I've thought mine has been fixed several times only for the shakes to come back as bad as before. I've been dealing with this problem since shortly after I bought mine new in April 2008.

I just bought a 2013 and it has obtained the ever irritating steering wheel shake. it now has 1500 miles on it and I feel it's ridiculous! I am running stock everything on this truck including running the factory steel wheels. When I test drove it, the ride was smooth as glass. I will take it to the dealership to speak with them about the issue. Other than that, I love the truck.
