I bedlined my entire truck and would like the old school toyota logo on the tailgate. However, a sticker will not stick to the rigid surface.

Anyone know of a stencil i could use to spray paint? I am looking for this font style:

I'm surprised you didn't bed line the windshield and headlights while you were at it ;)

If i were you I would order the vinyl decal, apply it to some stiff card stock that is large enough, and then cut out the letters. voila- stencil.

Just curious, if you ever wanted to go back to paint how difficult is it to remove the bedliner spray? Never used it so no idea ..

Forget about it. Applied correctly bedliner is a real pain to remove. It resists abrasion and most chemicals. Heat Gun maybe.... but personally I wouldn't bother.

You'll never get a straight edge on the lettering if you try to spray paint on a surface as rough as bed-liner. It will always be irregular. You might need to fabricate metal letters the size you want, paint them the color you want, and bond them to the surface with epoxy or similar. Vinyl lettering won't work either on a surface that rough, as you'll never get all the edges to stick to the surface, so it will peel eventually.

It is not for someone on the fence. If you do it, it is permanent. Especially for me. My reasoning was my paint was garbage (oxidized) and chips popping up and rusting. I got tired of touch up and was not willing to spend 1k+ on a paint job for a 15 year old truck that can function on a total bedline that cost me $170 and a day of work.

Never again will I spend time waxing her...she gets pressure washed and i'm done.

I can spray it on and touch up the edges. It won't be perfect but from a distance it should look good.

If you were able to make a stencil, could you etch the etch the letters into the bedliner with a dremel and then paint? That could look cool.

What if I applied an adhesive compound that could raise the grain and smooth it out. Then fit the stencil over it, fill any gaps with plumber putty and spray it.

The lettering is mostly straight lines & 2 Os.
A stencil should be easy, though there needs to be pieces holding the insides of the O & the triangle of the A. Then, you’d need to mask & paint those small connecting areas.
    Another option:
Do it so it looks like the old military stencils, with the connecting bits looking intentional.
