I am looking to purchase some side step bars for my 2005 Tacoma Double cab. I have been researching cost and quality and would like some feedback from the group on which ones you have ?

I am getting the Westin oval step tubes for my Taco...they are 6" wide, so offer some nice protection for the underside of the doors etc. I am not too sure about the price of them, as I am getting them for cost ($260CDN with mounting brackets) through my Dad.

Well all of the bars I have seen so far the Westin would be my choice, they offer a 5 year warranty on the finishes for the Signature Series.

If you do any wheeling you might want to look into some rock sliders instead. I think All Pro offroad has them for $399

I have Westin oval stainless steel bars... they have three brackets per bar. For the bars, instalation, tax and brackets for around 400 bucks

None currently, but I would like a better sounding exhaust and perhaps a cold air pack and some color coded step bars
I want some bars also but would like color coded to match my truck. Saw a truck the other day on RT 495 in MA. that had a real nice fiberglass cover and a wing on the back, near the gate and had the rear bumper color coded to the truck. Couldn't catch up with him to see where he was buying his parts. LOL

I had a set of Westin step bars oval, chrome installed recently. They seem to fit real close to the truck, so when i step on them my foot is touching the truck. Is this normal?

Thanks, i didn't know. It's my first Tacoma, i love it, just didn't know about the step bars. I'll watch how i step on them so i don't end up scratching up my truck.
