Thanks...they have held up perfectly. No sign of any wear after two winters and plenty of car washes. Glad I did it

Thanks OP. IMHO the factory should have painted the rims black in the first place!

Did mine yesterday. Took all 4 wheels off and cleaned them very thoroughly. Then I scuffed them up and wiped them down with rubbing alcohol. Final prep step was to wipe them all down with a tack cloth and put index cards in. I ended up doing like 7 coats. The first 3 were light, and 20 minutes apart. The last 4 were medium to heavy and 45 minutes apart. Probably could’ve gotten away with only 2 heavy coats, but I messed up on the last one and had some splotchy spots, so I decided to do 2 more heavy coats. I used rustoleum 2x in satin canyon black. No clear coat here for the same reasoning as OP- hopefully makes it easier to touch up and maintain. Not perfect by any means, but from 6 feet away they look sharp. I used 2 cans of spray paint, 4 scotch pads, a tack cloth, and some wheel cleaner totaling around $42. Sure beats $1000 for new wheels. Hopefully the intense prep will pay off and they last for a while.

Looks great. You'll be happy every time you walk past them. Much better than bi-tone

You could honestly put them back on maybe 2 hours after final coat, just as long as the paint isn't tacky and you're careful not to nick the fresh coat. However, I waited all night just to be sure.

Do you have any more pics of these on your truck? I have a set of OR wheels I've been toying with finishing in silver, but you have the only non-black/charcoal or gold/bronze set I have seen in months of looking!

That looks great, thank you so much! Amazing how much styling went in to those wheels just to have it mostly covered in dark charcoal, looks completely different. Now, does it look too modern for a 2G is the question..
