    ....plus one more tip. place a washer in the spot for the lugnut while painting. last thing you want to do is torquing down a lug nut and have the paint twist in that area.

    That's a great look. My least favorite things about my truck were the wheels, and the ugly chrome grill. Got the Pro Grill installed, and now gotta handle the wheels. I'm inspired lol.

    Old thread but, does anyone have feed back with how theirs has held up after 6 months - 1 year later?

    Not interested in derp or professional paint jobs. I would buy the 4R pro wheels before I would pay $400 or more for stock OR wheels to be painted.

    Nice job. I just finished painting my XD wheels on my 2019. I will post pics as soon as I get the center caps back on. I did some custom work on them. Used color matched Grey Metallic. Painted the insert on the center cap red. 3 coats self etching metail primer, 5 coats color, 3 coats clear. PIA but looks nice.

    Bought some black vinyls to run for a few months to see how it wears on my brain. I can’t paint till summer anyway so figured it was worth tossing $35 at the vinyls for a safe test run. Great thread there sir!

    Im coming up on 8 months for mine. They have held up surprisingly really well. Only a few minor scratches from off-roading, but thats to be expected. No fading or peeling of the paint either. Super stoked with mine

    I was really on the fence about doing my wheels in gloss black because Ima flat black kinda guy but after seeing OP’s post with pics, I decided to do it to get rid of the aluminum cogs on my TRD OR rims until I get her a new pair of shoes.

    I really liked the way it looked on the cement gray with the OEM look the gloss black gives them. I actually did mine at night in the driveway because I have two boys under the age of 3 so I do have some drips and imperfections it you can’t tell unless you get up close and stare at them. I’ll sand them down and reshoot when I get around to it. For now, I am super happy with the results and thankfuly the wife is too. She was going apeshit asking why I would pay so much for a truck and then spray paint the wheels, lol! Here are some before and after pics so you guys can see what it looks like on quicksand with KO2’s with white letters out. How are these paint jobs holding up after a year or so? I just found how I’m going to keep my wheels and get a lift and new tires. I was so close to pulling the trigger on the 4R wheels, but didn’t want 4 wheels sitting around in the shed or garage.

    And, anyone have tires mounted after paint? How did the paint hold up.

    Great write up @dal3_gribble

    @Kahuna

    Do you have a few more pics of the truck? I have the same truck, wanting to see how the black looks in a few other angles. Thanks!

    At first I thought “oh man, that guy is gonna mess up his wheels”, but they look great.

    Nice work!

    I'll throw my hat in the ring as to wondering how this has held up for over a year - especially for those in climates with snow/ice. Thinking I want to give this a shot, looks great
