Hey, so I've been looking through threads to try and find a solution for dropping my OEM tube steps lower to the frame because I have the same problem where I can't fit my foot over the step because it's far too snug to the frame. Is there an existing thread that addresses a method for lowering it? I've thought about installing some spacers but wondering what would be the best methods and materials to use to do this.

    Thanks

I thought about this too when I was looking for the right steps for me. Unfortunately, the mounting brackets have two holes at different angles which means if you put a spacer or block between the bracket and the truck, the other hole no longer lines up.

I went with the GoRhino 5" Xtreme oval steps because they hang lower and further away from the truck. They are made of high density plastic with an aluminum rail on the bottom (Much stronger and more durable than this sounds). Because of this they can never rust. I searched for a long time before I decided what to get.

This thread reviewing them is what conviced me that they were what I was looking for. Good luck with your search.

I did some more searching for solutions and did find this: Lowering Tube Steps

However, I think he had the same problem that you were referring to where the slot would no longer fit to line up the bolt. I'm sure there's a solution to it, but it doesn't seem as simple as I once thought.

I like the idea of a rust-proof tube step, so I'm definitely going to check that out. Thanks
