I plan on it, just have to move into my new place at the end of the month, then set up a new garage, then look at doing it.

I finally got my rock sliders welded on this weekend. They're solid as a rock. I'm not a small guy and I was standing on one bouncing it, rolling my Taco side to side.

    Custom built by Marshall Fabrication.

    Here's Evan's slider thread.

Next up - looking at more under armor....skid plate and belly pan.

Nice! I'm getting some bolt on sliders soon. Then a front plate bumper then skids. Or skids first, not sure

Edit: That's bizarre...all of the pics are completely GONE from my album for this post.

Spent all day Saturday doing basic maintenance.

    1. Cleaned the new slider welds and sprayed with undercoat to protect against rust. At some point I'll clean and go over the frame with black, but this will get me through the winter.
    2. I've had a CEL for the last month or so. P0120 - MAF sensor or Throttle Body dirty. I've just been clearing the code and driving, watching for it to show up again again every week or so. So I finally made a trip to Knechts and got some MAF cleaner. After YouTubing exactly what the MAF sensor and TB were (and where), I pulled the battery negative, removed the MAF unit, and cleaned it in ~15 minutes.

TB was pretty dirty, so I decided to pull it and clean it well. Hoses on the underside gave me a lot of problems. Finally got them off and pulled the TB towards the front of the Taco...

...and broke off the PCV valve.

Another trip to Knechts for a replacement and removal suggestions. Also picked up some gasket silicone as they didn't have a new TB crush gasket. Cleaned the TB really good, spread a bead of silicone around both sides of the gasket an put the TB back on. Torqued to 10ftlb. It was a pain in the ass getting the old PCV out. Every time I grabbed a piece and pulled upwards, it just broke off. The 18 year old plastic was pretty brittle, and the surrounding grommet was hard as plastic.

Managed to get it all out without dropping any down in. Back to Knechts for a new grommet - they had one left in stock. Put everything back together, reconnected the battery, and fired her up. Smooth running and no more CEL so far.
There is never anything "basic" about maintenance for me. But, I learned more about my engine and saved at least $200 in shop labor, if not more.

Yeah, if it happens again, it'll be much quicker next time. I'll probably just replace the MAF if it happens again.

At least this only cost me ~$25 in parts all said and done.

Not bad, I'll change my MAF eventually. It seems my mpg is really bad right now and I'm not sure why

Nice job. I cleaned mine before I moved down here and it was a MESS! I was shocked. This reminds me that I should relook at mine. Thanks for the heads up.

OK, going to order that kit I think, then do my brakes in a few weeks, mine are shaking on braking bad. Just looking at a few different kits right now. Thanks for doing this first!

It was super easy to do. Did you get it done yet? If not, I can give you a hand.

I need to rotate my tires and pull the pads at the same time apply the anti-squeel lube that I bought and forgot to apply. It doesn't happen all the time, but sometimes when backing out of the garage in the morning there is a squeal/noise as I'm braking to a stop. It can also happen on other random days at random times. It's pretty random. Hopefully the lube will fix the problem. Well, it's not really a problem as braking is still solid. It's just the noise that is annoying me.

Yeah, I did the upgrade, used the Callahans kit and Wheelers lines, it went fairly smooth. Was never able to get the pedal back to where it was though. Still kinda mushy, multiple manual bleeds at all 5 points and even taking it in and having Schwabs do it. Convinced it would take the Tundra MC to make it feel like stock. I like the brakes but I didn't get the results I expected, I thought it would be phenomenal.

I get that squeak occasionally when backing out of the driveway, only time it happens.

Thanks for the offer to help, much appreciated!

Odd...my brake pedal is solid. It was mushy as we bled it...like all the way to the floor mushy. Then all of a sudden *BAM!*. Bled it another couple times and done.

5 points? We did the fronts and called it good. Zero stopping problems at all.

We completely flushed all fluid out of the 5 bleed points, it's not that my brakes are mushy, just more pedal travel for sure.
