Appreciate everyone's advise on my previous post about the stock tires.

I've seen a lot of folks moving up to 265/75 16. Is that the max size for TRD Pro to upgrade and not have any rubbing issues?

    Much appreciated! - Rov

No…but that also depends on what you consider “biggest” to be. , for example.

Could be wrong, but I’ve heard some places won’t mount a 235 on an 8” wide wheel though, as it isn’t within factory tire recs.

If you’re mainly on pavement I’d throw on 285 70 17 C load, get a good wheel alignment and just cut anything that’s rubbing - easy. 285s work on the pro wheels.

Thanks for advice. How does a 17 in tire fit a 16 in rim?

    It won’t haha , but I’d go for a 285 75 16 in C or D load

Can confirm this. A bit heavier, yes, but like the little extra clearance and the tires perform better than the stock ones.

I would go with 265/75R16. Best option for tires and looks good. I don’t see the benefit to 255/85R16 at all. There’s like 7 tires in that size and they’re all mud terrains from what I recall. They’re slightly bigger, but is that worth it?

I am aware that the 255/85R16 will clear OEM suspension (without mud flaps) on the stock OR wheel (+25mm), but does it clear on the Pro wheel (+13mm)?

    C/D load 285/75R16's don't exist. It's all Load E for anything that isn't a commercial highway tire.

Welcome to TW! People have been running that size tire on the Pro with no issues as far as I've seen, check the skinny thread to be sure.

    SEMA’s are 7”….I thought the new pros were 8 or 8.5” though…

3rd gen pros (both versions) are 16x7. Sema are 17x7.

Newer 4Runner Pro (2021+ - the ones that don’t fit our rear axle hubs properly) are 17x7 like the old Semas.

4th gen Pro and Trailhunter I believe are 18x8 but don’t quote me on that.
