I just bought a 99' Tacoma regular cab & it's bone stock, I figured this would be the best place to ask for advice!

    1) How big of tires can I go without lifting it. (Would it look silly?)
    2) What would be the most viable means of lifting it, but not completely blowing all of my savings. (Which lift kit works best for my model)

    Thanks guys! :D

i do believe you can put 31s stock. For a good affordable lift get the 3" eibachs with bilstien 5100 adjustable shocks. Alot of people also like the ome springs with the 5100s too. and as for the back that is up to you. New leafs are the best way to do it but you can get shackles or blocks which are alot cheaper. if it is just going to be your daily driver then just do that option.

probly a spindle lift up front and block or flip kit out back would be easiest. 235/75 are a good start probly need regear if you go any bigger.

not sure how to tell if it's a 5 lug, but that's what I have been told from a friend.

235/75 do you think it would look decent without a lift? I just want to be able to get off the beaten path without trying to race baja...

however, if I can get a lift kit installed for less than 1200 then I am all for getting it lifted.

You can throw some fabtech spindles in there. Gives you a 3" lift up front. New for 300ish or cheaper used. I saw a guy selling his for 180 obo. For 100 do an extended shackle. 15" black steelies run at $52 a pop. You can get some 31 10.50 15 tires and be rollin right around 1200. You could find also a cool tire wheel combo with that size. Hit up the SD BS thread if you are looking for someone to help you install the lift, but you can do it yourself with just normal tools.

His only options up front are either spacers or spindles (spindles best option)...AAL or a shackle in the rear. 5 lugs dont have coilovers like the 6 lugs do.

Should be able to run 30'' tires...maybe 31's if you do some trimming.

oh ya, well dont i feel dumb, considering i had a 5lug....i never played with the front, so i forgot it wasnt a coilover. dont quote me on this, but i dont think 30s will fit at stock suspension.

Only on the 01-04 models but it will still rub over bumps. I had 29's on mine and they rubbed like crazy. And I have a coil spacer lift.
