check out Dupli-Color wheel paint. no adhesion promoter is needed.. I how ever did use one as it was recommended to use one by the guy at the tire shop. I am not sure it was needed.

I have yet to mount the tires as I am saving still for the tires.

If you want to do it and forget about them, powder coat them, use plastic fusion paint for the center caps and buy stock black chrome lug nuts.

    60 dollars a rim
    8 dollars fusion paint
    50ish lug nuts

My tire guy told me to simply use rustoleum with an adhesion promoter on my aluminum rims..with steel rims I would probably scuff them up and spray them.. you can always touch up once the tires are mounted with regular spray paint.

Ya I did my other car aluminum rims with the same paint but glossy and the tire shop tore them up but I figured with steel it would stick easily

Just did my rims today. Took some time but I really like how they turned out. I think about anyone can do it if I figured it out. Also sorry about that last picture, it was dark and wouldn't focus. More pics to come!

I used Rustoleum High Performance for the Alloy and Krylon Fusion for the center hubs. I started off using 600 grit like everyone recommended but it was sort of underachieving for me so I switched to 400 and they scuffed up real nice. I also popped off the center Toyota symbol off the cap. I don't know why people recommended taping it off when it easily snaps off and back on.
